We had an amazing 6-day private tour covering both Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The entire trip was very well-organized, allowing us to experience the highlights of both countries within a short time. Our guide, Ray, was knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible, always ensuring that we were comfortable throughout the journey. He also introduced us to many delicious local dishes, which we truly enjoyed. The driver was professional and cautious, making the long drives smooth and pleasant — a great addition that truly enhanced our overall experience.

We took a private tour for 7 days starting in Almaty and finishing in Bishkek. Our tour guide Ray was great, he made the trip very fun and took lots of great photos from his drone! He also knows all the local spots for fantastic food! So if you’re a foodie like us, he’s also great. Overall a great trip, which we’d highly recommend, beautiful countries and memories for life!

Our guide Remul, led us on a 6 day private tour of mostly Kyrgyzstan and a little Kazakhstan near Charyn canyon. The thing that impressed us most was his knowledge of everything local and also the changes the region is undergoing, largely due to China's belt and road initiative and other development going on in the area. His English was excellent, and, of course, his Russian and Kazakh, used when communicating locally. We were able to change the itinerary last minute because of weather, and it was pretty seamless. He picked us up at the airport, and we were on our way. We saw many beautiful natural sights- we opted not to do the city tours- including a bone jarring ride up to Altyn-Ararshan valley. (The worst road in the world). The lodgings were all quite acceptable, usually local-no large chain hotels- and the food was uniformly good. Would highly recommend Silk Travel, especially since I didn't find that many operators doing the tour we wanted.

We had the most wonderful experience in this 6 day tour. Ray, our guide, was superb and very accommodating. The places we visited were enchanting, the food we had was excellent and the comfort of the private car was truly a plus point. Thank you to Dana of Silktravel who was very responsive and helpful at the initial stage of planning our travel. We definitely recommend Silktravel for those thinking of visiting this part of the world.

We had an amazing experience with Bakhtiyar as our guide, driver, and drone videographer. His driving skills were outstanding, confidently navigating tough, bumpy, and even water-covered roads to reach stunning lakes and canyons. He made the trip truly special by arranging unique experiences like horse riding, tasting local bread, and even stopping for fresh horse milk by the roadside. A major highlight was the eagle hunting show he organized just for us — a rare and unforgettable experience. Bakhtiyar was incredibly patient and kind, especially helping my elderly parents during hikes. He also took his time capturing beautiful photos and drone videos at the canyons and lakes, giving us memories we'll cherish forever. As our translator, he made everything smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Both countries are really beautiful - cheaper options than Swiss (mountain range, lakes) and the US (canyon). Our guide, Mikhail made the whole experience better - we really enjoyed our time there. Food is also good, but brace yourself for the ‘massage’ on the road 😅

It was easy to book the tour with Silk Travel via email. Dana responded to questions promptly. We did the 6 day Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan Tour, followed by the 1 day City tour. We had the time of our lives with plenty of Adrenaline moments Our guide Bakhtiyar picked us up from Almaty airport. He's one of the best guides I've ever come across. We felt as if we were his guests as he made sure we saw all the beautiful sites, climbed and hiked as far as possible, ate every possible local cuisine. He bought us the sweetest fruits in season, local breads and snacks, made us taste wierd herbal drinks. We had thrilling off road rides in the 4WD as we climbed slopes, crossed streams and heart stopping horse rides up and down steep slopes to get to the various sites which were stunning: beautiful green and blue lakes, waterfalls and majestic canyons and rock formations. Bakhtiyar also took great drone photos and videos which captured the beauty of the various sites. A word of caution, he also has an acid tongue and a wicked sense of humour. 😅

Our 6-day Central Asia tour with Silk Travel turned out to be far beyond expectation. It covered the most beautiful and stunning places in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan which we had not seen in any other places before. The tour included staying overnight in local villages and Yurt which we found was really one-of-a-kind and unique experience. Our tour guide, Vladimir, was so much more than just a guide. He taught us trekking, culture, history (and language!) and it made our tour even more exciting and interesting. He tailored and adjusted the tour schedule according to our preference, health condition, weather, etc. and everything just worked out so perfectly. We absolutely loved every single part of it. Thank you Silk Travel and Vladimir for making our trip unforgettable. We will cherish our memories in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and definitely share this with all our friends.

We had a great time in all activities in winter., walking and hiking in the parks. Our guide Bakhktiyar, is an expert driver, easy to communicate with in English, goes out of his way to bring us to explore quiet forests and amazing knowledge of flora and fauna in both Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. We had choice of meals, but mainly let him pick the restaurants and food, which was always delicious. Highly recommend the guide and Silk Travels.
