Berat Castle

Its built on a hill 187 meters high on the 5-7 century bc. The houses were built first and then walls as a protective urban. The length of the walls is 1400 meters with a surface by 10h. The historic resources tell us that has been attacked many times. In antiquity it has been called by the name Antipatrea in 216 bc. From Romans it was called Albanorum Oppidium which means the castle of Arber. It has a triangle form watching it by height. Inside of the castle you will find many churches and mosque, most of them are ruined by the dictacture system. It has 4 gates and is the only habitable castle in Balkan.

National Iconographic Museum Onufri

The museum is named "Onufri" in honor to the Albanian painting Headmaster of XVI century. This Cathedral is rebuilt during the 1797 and it is the most representative monument of the past by zonetime architecture in Berat town. The museum collection is constructed with 179 objects chosen from a fund of 1500 objects, belonging to the fund of Albanian Churches and Manasteries.

National Ethnographic Museum Berat

The Ethnographic museum has a rich collection of 1300 objects. It is an important evidence of the interesting culture and rich tradition of the Berat region.

Hotel Accommodation

The 3 major neighborhoods of the old city are Mangalem, Gorica and Kala where the castle itself is located in Mangalem, below the castle you can see the famous view of the facades of the houses, with windows that seem to stand above each other. In general a traditional houses has 2 floors, where the second is prominent and has many cohered windows and wood covings. With its houses built along the steep hill the view of Mangalem is the reason that another name for Berat is the city of the floating windows.

Its built on a rock in the beginning of XIV century. It's structure is made by brick and stone in Byzantine style. Its one of the most attractive places to visit. After visiting this church, we will have the lunch.

Gorica Bridge

It is one of the oldest and most popular Ottoman bridges in Albania built by Ahmet Kurt Pasha in 1780. Originally built by wood and after at 1920 it was reconstructed by stone. It connects the 2 parts of Berat, Mangalem and Gorica.

Across the Osumi River you can find Gorica neighborhood, built in XVII century with around 200 houses. In 1851 a big earthquake destroyed almost everything and the most of the houses were rebuild in the XIX century.

Berat

Berat Center - We will visit the center where you can see different shops, coffees and take a walk in the pedestrian area which is full of life and people. After that, you can enjoy some free time. Dinner will be around 20:00 in the evening.

We meet at 08:30 after the breakfast and drive for 1 hour to Bogova Waterfall. Visit the waterfall which is 20 meters high and 4 meters deep. We can see the beauty of the nature, hiking by 20 minutes reaching the waterfall where we can stand. Take pictures also swim (optional). 30 minute coffee break included in Bogove.

Osum Canyon (Kanioni i Osumit)

Visit Bride Hole where u can admire the beauty of canyons and learn for the interesting legend of it. 20 minutes drive from Bogove to Bride Hole.

Enjoy the beauty of canyons and the refreshment of river water where you can swim and enjoy the beauty of nature. Taking pictures, using canoes etc.
