Walking through the streets of Comuna 13 in Medellín, being guided by a local born and raised in the city, who has lived through the entire transformation of this area, is a truly unique and revealing experience. Comuna 13 has gone through profound transformations over the years, from being considered one of the most dangerous areas in the world, to becoming a symbol of resilience and improvement. You will notice how colorful murals tell the history of the community, art is lived in every step, escalators connect the hillsides and how people come together to celebrate life and culture.
Medellin Metrocable
We will visit the most important points of the city from above. To do this, we will travel by metro and metro cable. Throughout the tour, the guide shares information about the history, design and social impact of these infrastructures. This experience not only allows you to learn about how it works, but also gives you a deeper insight into how these initiatives have transformed the lives of its inhabitants and have contributed to the urban development of the city.

Doing the Walking with Nando tour was a wonderful experience. Nando has an in-depth knowledge of the history, culture and secret corners of Medellin, making each tour authentic, warm and very human. Ideal for families with children, older adults or travelers who prefer to enjoy the city at a quiet pace, without rush, but with lots of content and good energy. We loved walking through traditional neighborhoods, listening to local stories and connecting with local people. In addition, everything is very well organized and rating the love and passion with which Nando shares his city. I totally recommend Walking with Nando if you want to live a cultural, local and sustainable tourism in Medellin. It is a different and enriching way to get to know the city, perfect for those looking for more than just a sightseeing tour.

We met up with Jhoan in the museum of memories. He was a very Knowles le historian and used the interactive museum screens to give us a clear understanding of Columbias history since the 1930s. His history class was so informative and helpful in understanding what we would later experience as we walked during our tour. We also had some good refreshments on the way. In all, we felt more like locals than tourists.

A person, very friendly and sociable adapts to what the group wants with stops wherever you want and as long as you want, highly recommended and telling the whole story of commune 13! 🙌

Nando is the best!, you have to listen to his story of resilience. Although I already knew Commune 13, this time I decided to go with a guide, on the recommendation of some friends, who had already made the tour with Nando, it was certainly the best decision, I realized I did not know anything about the neighborhood and what the people of the place had gone through. Walking with Nando I recommend!

Actually, I was very surprised by the Graffitour. I thought it was going to be a normal ride, but it turned out to be a super deep experience. Nando, who is from Commune 13, has a way of telling you the things that come to your heart. It tells you about what it was like to live in such a complicated neighborhood and how, with effort, they managed to turn the story around. The murals you see throughout the tour are impressive, each with a message of resistance and hope. The most amazing thing was how Nando connects with the artists, with the neighborhood and with us, the tourists. Without a doubt, it is a tour that changes the perspective of Medellin and makes you value more everything that this city has gone through. Unmissable!

What a tremendous experience! The Graffitour of Commune 13 left me speechless. The neighborhood is full of art everywhere you look, but it’s not just because of the murals, but because of everything they represent. Nando, a crack, told us firsthand how the Commune went from a dangerous place to a symbol of social transformation in Medellin. What I liked most was that everything they explain to you comes from someone who lived there. Every story he told us had a personal touch that made you feel part of the story. Plus, it took us to Top-rated points to take amazing photos. If you like urban art and want to know the real history of Medellin, this tour is the one you have to do.

We started by walking the streets full of color and urban art. Nando was telling us, not only the story behind each mural, but also the transformation of the neighborhood and its childhood in those alleys. Every graffiti has a strong message of resistance, culture and hope. In addition, he knows several of the artists and shared anecdotes that you do not hear elsewhere. Nando, super attentive, could be seen wearing the Commune in his heart. He told us how the area went from one of the most dangerous in the city to an example of change and resilience. Besides, it made us feel safe and connected to people. We hit the walk, climbed the escalators and stopped for some great ice cream.
