What To Expect
As soon as you arrive at the meeting point, our guides will receive you to give you instructions and direct you in your own vehicles to the area where we will begin the tour, approximately 20 minutes to get there. Once in the place, our guides will provide you with life jackets, helmets and will officially welcome you to the Paso Palmas neighborhood of Utuado.
Canon Blanco
They will begin the tour through the Cañon Blanco area where you can take spectacular photographs of this natural rock formation. Our guides will give you orientation regarding the flora, fauna and indigenous culture. We will enter the interior of the White Canyon to take a tour of the water between the beautiful white rock walls and be able to appreciate the Sofa stone, a completely natural formation. Then we go to the puddle of the Church where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in our crystal clear waters. Finally we headed towards the vehicles to take another path in the place that will take us to the impressive petroglyph stations, which are the stone carvings made by our first settlers. Adventure, history and fun is what awaits us!

4.00The title is a little misleading as I expected to see more ruins, but ultimately it was about experiencing ancestral lands the Taino Indians frequented! And that experience is priceless! You got to feel the freedom locals have with access to such a great site right in their backyard! Expect Great views and opportunities to connect with the land and indigenous spirit of Puerto Rico! We waded in the water, climbed and some even swam! So make sure you are prepared for a full body work out! This tour is lengthy and a little physically challenging at points so I would not recommend for young kids or elders. The guide was kind, accommodating and made sure everyone felt safe and could access all the information necessary to have a great experience— including translations for English speaking guest

5.00Maria was our tour guide and I was grateful for her knowledge and her love of the white canyon. She shared with us the history and the changes that the canyon has gone through. Shes not just a tour guide but a person who is passionate about sharing the history and keeping it clean so that it can be enjoyed by families for many years to come. After asking , She was able to suggest two eateries serving typical foods of the island in the area.

5.00It is one thing to visit the canyon on your own for recreational purposes, but it is quite another thing to know the history of the presence of ancient settlers. You learn to appreciate much more, from a respect point of view. There is no person better prepared than Maria Caraballo who not only teaches you but transmits that passion and respect to our ancestors.

5.00Extremely interesting experience; a different proposal to spend the day. Our guide, Maria, is super friendly and knowledgeable about the surroundings and its history. It was a very pleasant route where we walked through the canyon, saw abundant flora and fauna difficult to find in more urbanized areas, and learned about the history of our first settlers and their legacy. Really recommended.

5.00María and her nephew were amazing guides. They are heading a local grassroots effort to preserve Cañon Blanco and educate people on Taino history and culture. This was truly one of the most beautiful experiences of my vacation. Experience a day of walking, swimming, rich climbing and prehistoric history. Gracias!

5.00This was a fabulous tourof Cañon Blanco, El Sofa, La Playita de Utudao y La Iglesia! Our guide, Maria is from Utuado and she gave us an account of the area both present and past. You are better off visiting during the week days to avoid the crowds. Maria gave us a tour of the petroglyphs made by the Taino Indians more than 500 years ago. A must see for Boricua enthusiasts like me!

5.00We so enjoyed this tour and although we could go on our own, having a guide made us feel really safe. I am so glad we did. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and helpful! They even arranged lunch from a local lady after the tour which was absolutely delicious.

5.00We have been to Puerto Rico many times and it is amazing how many varieties of activities there are to do. We particularly very much enjoyed the Ruta Ancestral tour. Our guides (Ricardo and Maria) were very nice and helpful. We would like to come back and do it again some day.
