Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew)
The Emerald Buddha image, the most important Buddha image in Thailand is enshrined inside the ordination hall of the temple. The Emerald Buddha image wasn't cast from Emerald but was cast from high quality of green jade. We found the Buddha image in 1432. You come to Thailand, you should go and pray for your luck.
The Grand Palace
The Grand Palace was constructed together with the founding of Bangkok in 1782 when King Rama 1 ascended to the throne and founded a new dynasty. The Grand Palace is very important as it used to be the palladium of the state. It was used for both the royal residence and the administrative center of the country in the government system of absolute monarchy. Today, the palace is used just for ceremonials. The architectural plan of this palace was almost identical in every detail to the Grand Palace of the former capital of Ayutthaya (about 600 years ago) because the King wanted to recreate the glory of the city as it was in the past. So it was completely first built in traditional Thai style. However, at various periods, the influences from other nations affect to the architecture in Thailand in different reigns such as the Chinese elements introduced by King Rama 3 in the early 19th century and the western building style introduced by King Rama 5 in the late 19th century.

We booked a half-day private tour with Som to explore Bangkok’s key historical sites, and it turned out to be a great experience from start to finish. The tour lasted around five hours, with seamless hotel pickup, which made everything very smooth and comfortable. A real highlight was the canal cruise—we spent about an hour on the water and got to see a completely different, more authentic side of Bangkok. It added a unique touch that made the tour feel more special. Som was excellent—professional, knowledgeable, and very easy to spend time with. She shared plenty of interesting insights and stories, striking a perfect balance between informative and relaxed. Overall, a very well-organized and enjoyable way to see Bangkok’s main highlights in a short time. Ideal if you’re looking for something efficient but still high quality.

I had an incredible private tour of the Grand Palace, Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), and Wat Arun, and I cannot recommend it enough. My guide, Poppy, was absolutely amazing and truly made the experience unforgettable. Poppy was knowledgeable, warm, and engaging, sharing rich historical context, cultural insights, and thoughtful details that brought each site to life. She navigated the crowds with ease, paced the tour perfectly, and was incredibly attentive—making sure we were comfortable, hydrated, and had time to fully take in each location. The Grand Palace was stunning, Wat Pho was awe-inspiring, and Wat Arun was breathtaking, especially learning about the symbolism and history behind the architecture. Poppy answered every question with depth and clarity and made the tour feel personal rather than scripted. She also is amazing photographer… major plus. If you’re visiting Bangkok and want a meaningful, well-organized, and enriching experience of these iconic temples, book this private tour—and ask for Poppy if you can. She is truly exceptional.

Our guide was fantastic. She knew the history. The dynasties, the religious differences and the architecture. She made sure we got the best photos and her English was easy to understand. I highly recommend this private tour. We saw many large group tours plus people aimlessly doing their own tour. The 1:3 attention from our guide was perfect. She was able to answer all of our questions. We booked this through Viator. Our tour guide was Oddi. The spelling is likely wrong.

This tour was one of the highlights of our two-week trip to Thailand! Angie, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and took the BEST pictures! Our favorite photos from the entire trip are ones she took on this tour. The tour itself goes through dazzling temples and significant historical events. We also learned about Queen Sirikit’s recent passing and saw mourners in line to pay their respects. I would recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in learning more about Thailand and the royal family (historically and today), anyone interested in the beautiful blending of Buddhist and Hindu tradition in Thailand, and anyone who wants to be amazed by absolutely splendid architecture and beautiful plant life. My husband and I loved this tour! Thank you, Angie, for making this a highlight of our trip to Thailand!

Nina and the driver are both great, professional, knowledgeable and pay attention to details. They are very flexible and frequently asked our preference. The tour gives good coverage of these main historical attractions in the city, and accommodated everyone well with everyone having different interest on things. The van is comfortable and super clean. The lunch place Nina booked for us is super. Highly recommend tje tour, Nina and the driver.

It’s called the “Three Must-See Temples” for a reason they truly live up to the name. The Grand Palace was absolutely stunning, beyond anything you could imagine. The other two temples were just as beautiful in their own way. What made the day even better was our guide, Jenny. She was patient, cheerful, and explained everything clearly and with such a good vibe. We really enjoyed this tour and would totally recommend Jenny if you get the chance to visit!
