Guatape , this eastern Antioquia municipality, located an hour and a half from Medellin, opens a world of color among its streets, adorned with baseboards that tell stories of the town and its people. We were so lucky to have Laura as our guide for the day! She was so informative and we learned so much about Colombia, Medellin, and Guatapé in one day. She was very engaging and answered all the questions we had. Loved spending the day with her. Would highly recommend taking this tour when visiting Medellín!

I booked a private day trip to Guatape because I like smaller, more intimate tours. Our guide Laura was great. She picked us up at our hotel and we made the trip to the rock. On our way, we stopped at a small spot for breakfast. Next we headed to the rock; Laura gave us the history of Guatape as we headed there and let us ascend ourselves. The rock gives you an amazing view. After the rock, we headed into town where Laura told us about the socalos. She gave us time on our own to explore before heading off to lunch. Lunch was at a restaurant the tour company owned. I loved that they had vegetarian options. While we were there large tour busses pulled up, which reinforced my happiness with our intimate tour. Next up, we went on a boat ride around parts of the Guatape area and saw what was left of Escobar's compound there. Overall, Laura did a great job showing us the area and we had a great time.

We decided to do the tour of Guatape, the penol stone and we did a tour on the bulletin board. A local breakfast and lunch were included in the tour. Accompanying us is layer Arturo, a person and a special guide. He explained the whole history of Colombia, Medellin, the typical Picts and the reason for their names. In addition to the beauty of the places visited we will remember this tour for Arturo, talking to him we could get to know him better, he speaks three languages, English, Spanish and Italian. We ended the trip by discussing what life is like in Colombia and what it is like in Italy. Knowing Arturo we immediately understood that he does this job with passion and if we should recommend doing some tours we will definitely recommend him! Arturo we are waiting for you in Italy!

Hector was a great, laid back tour guide. He was flexible and knew a few tricks to help us maximize and enjoy our time. We has great with our younger kids. We loved seeing the sites around El Peñol and Guatapé. The whole experience was lovely.
