A breathtaking landscape of columns of rock accommodate a complex of orthodox monasteries perched on top of the hills, six of which still function today. They were once only accessible using ladders tied together or large nets but nowadays they are accessible by hundreds of staircases and pathways and have many visitors all year round. I was a little unsure about booking this tour at first because there weren’t many reviews—but don’t let that stop you! The tour was absolutely incredible, and I can’t recommend it enough. Be sure to request Stergios as your driver—he was beyond amazing! Professional, kind, flexible, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made our day unforgettable. Meteora is an absolute must-see. The pictures don’t even come close to capturing how stunning and awe-inspiring it is in person. The views, the monasteries, the history—it’s all just breathtaking. If you’re on the fence, go for it. You won’t regret it!

A great tour! George did a great job telling us the history of the monasteries and pointing out the best places for pictures. We could more times on the sites that were interesting to us and less on the others. A wonderful experience all around.

The cliffs are an amazing sight- well worth the drive. We visited two monasteries- both with a stunning view. The were beautiful and well kept. We had lunch on a nice restaurant in the nearby town for an affordable price- recommended by the guide. Our guide George was great. He found the best monasteries to visit and the best viewpoints for pictures. We would certainly love to travel with him another time! Be aware that women needs to have their knees covered with at skirt or a scarf to be able to enter the monasteries - trousers will not be enough. The trip and company is highly recommended!

One of the highlights of our cruise throughout Greece! George, our driver and guide, was THE BEST! After visiting the Monasteries on the Meteora rocks, George took the four of us to a fabulous Greek lunch in the village of Kalabaka. Very, very enjoyable day on our private tour!

Stunning beyond words! We couldn't stop looking at the views from these monoliths with monasteries on the top of them. This unique geologic area held such history from the 9th century hermit monk caves to the 14th century monasteries, which became refuges from the Nazis during WWII. Our tour guide, George, was so friendly and engaging. He genuinely enjoyed talking with us during the 1.5+ hour drive to Volos and back. He was so knowledgeable and told us so much about Greek history and culture. After the monasteries, he took us to a wonderful outdoor Greek restaurant with delicious authentic food (Taberna Panellinio Restaurant). George adapted his tour to our interests, was careful to get us back to our cruise ship on time, and was a very careful driver.
