History Museum of Armenia
Explore the vibrant capital of Armenia, a city where ancient history and modern life intertwine in perfect harmony. Your day begins at the History Museum of Armenia, located on the grand Republic Square. Here, you’ll travel through thousands of years of Armenian civilization — from prehistoric relics and medieval manuscripts to artifacts that tell the story of the world’s first Christian nation. Continue to the Yerevan Opera and Ballet Theatre, an architectural gem and cultural heart of the city, surrounded by the charming cafés and green spaces of Freedom Square. Then ascend through the impressive Cascade Complex, a massive stairway adorned with sculptures and contemporary art installations. At the top, enjoy a breathtaking panorama of Yerevan and the snow-capped Mount Ararat, one of the most iconic views in the entire Caucasus.
Victory Park and Statue of Mother Armenia
The tour continues to Victory Park, where the towering statue of Mother Armenia stands guard over the city — a symbol of strength, peace, and national pride. From here, descend to the Megerian Carpet Factory, where centuries-old Armenian weaving traditions are brought to life. Watch skilled artisans handcraft vibrant carpets, learn about symbolic patterns and dyes, and perhaps step into the gallery to admire museum-quality pieces.
ARARAT Museum
End your day with a visit to the legendary Ararat Brandy Factory, one of Armenia’s proudest institutions. Take a guided tour through the aging cellars, discover the secrets behind its world-renowned brandy, and enjoy a tasting that perfectly concludes your exploration of Yerevan — a city of history, art, and warm hospitality.
Monastery Sevanavank
Today’s journey takes you through some of Armenia’s most breathtaking natural and cultural landmarks. Depart from Yerevan and head toward the sparkling Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world. Known as the “Pearl of Armenia,” Sevan captivates visitors with its deep blue waters and cool mountain air. Climb the steps to the Sevanavank Monastery, founded in the 9th century on what was once an island. From the top, enjoy a panoramic view that perfectly captures the lake’s vast beauty and peaceful spirit.
Garni Temple
Continue to the Temple of Garni, the only surviving example of pagan architecture in the region. This 1st-century temple, dedicated to the Sun God Mihr, stands dramatically on the edge of the Azat Gorge, surrounded by magnificent basalt cliffs known as the “Symphony of Stones.” Here you’ll feel the harmony between ancient architecture and the natural world — and perhaps enjoy the soft sounds of a Duduk performance, the soul of Armenian music. A short drive away lies the Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site partially carved into solid rock. Built in the 4th century, this sacred complex once housed the Holy Lance that pierced the side of Christ. Its acoustics are extraordinary — often demonstrated by a live choir performance that fills the chambers with hauntingly beautiful echoes.
Khor Virap
Your final day in Armenia begins with a visit to one of the country’s most sacred landmarks — the Khor Virap Monastery, set against the majestic backdrop of Mount Ararat. Here, you’ll learn about the legend of Saint Gregory the Illuminator, who was imprisoned in the monastery’s underground pit before leading Armenia to become the world’s first Christian nation. The breathtaking view of Ararat from Khor Virap offers a perfect moment for reflection and photos.
Holy Mother of God Church
Continue to Etchmiadzin, the spiritual center of Armenia and the residence of the Catholicos of All Armenians. Visit the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin, considered the oldest Christian cathedral in the world, along with the beautifully preserved churches of St. Hripsime and St. Gayane, both remarkable examples of early Christian architecture.
Zvartnots Temple
Before concluding the journey, stop at the Zvartnots Cathedral ruins, a 7th-century masterpiece of Armenian architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Though only fragments remain, its circular design and stunning setting near Mount Ararat still inspire awe and admiration. With hearts full of memories and spirits touched by Armenia’s beauty and faith, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, carrying with you unforgettable impressions of this ancient and welcoming land.
