I don't know where to begin!!! I'm so glad that we assisted this class, we learned so much. Adriana and her family are gems. She kindly offered to pick us up from our finca and drove us back when the class was over. Our visit started with a tour of her farm where we learned about native fruits, veggies and plants from Risaralda and Quindío. The class began with a homemade cocktail, moved on to our main dish (Marranitas) and finished with a delicious Guanabana dessert. Can't wait to book another class next time I visit my city again! Thank you, Adriana, :)

My family had a lovely time visiting the finca and hearing about the small farm Adriana and her mother are building on their land. Adriana spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable about local ingredients. We prepared together a tasty three course meal starting with fried plantains with a chutney dip, then a chicken and potato stew Ajiaco, and finally a dessert from a fruit we had never heard of! But so delicious. We also finished with a traditional cocktail that was warm and perfect for the rainy day when we had the class. The outdoor kitchen area is covered well and has modern amenities despite the natural setting. There was a very sweet cat and dog roaming around which we appreciated but if you have people scared of pets you may wish to communicate that in advance. In addition the road up the mountain from the main highway to the house was rough, so be prepared for some bumps. We had a lovely time.

Do not miss this! Cooking with Adriana is a unique, intimate and delicious experience. You have an option of menu choices, including vegetarian options, and she easily accommodated adding two friends and a small diet adjustment for one of us. She also arranged transportation from Pereira for an added cost that was totally with it. It Would be lovely for couples, friend-groups like ours or families. Adrian is warm, engaging, and easy to be with. She (and her mom Luz’s) country home is made of local bamboo and the organic garden is lush and beautiful. We even got to see a gorgeous sunset over the valley. And the food is incredible! Fresh juices, food with unique local flavors and ingredients…all delicious! By the end we felt like we’d made a friend, learned a lot about local fruits, foods and flavors, and received far more than expected. We can’t say enough!

We absolutely loved this experience. Our daughters also commented how much they enjoyed the experience as well as the amazing meal we made. We chose the traditional Colombian dish from the pacific region which included Patacones (Double fried plantain) + Encocado de pescado (Fish and coconut) + Dessert: Maracuy panacota + Beverage: Fresh fruit juice We loved the stories Adriana shared with us about the food grown of the farm as well as the grits she shared with us. She was very genuine and by the end we felt like we were eating our meal with an extended family member.
