This Private Two on One Surf lesson is ideal if you are looking for an intensive learning process for you and a friend or relative.
The lessons are suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have already had lessons and are looking to improve. Ideally you would both be at a similar level for the coaching to be wholly effective.
NOTE - when booking this, please only select 1 participant for the pricing to be accurate. The price is £160 for 2 people, not £160 per person!
You will be met at the surf school by the coach, who will assess both your surfing experience and tailor the lesson to your current abilities.
These lessons give lots of instruction and assistance over a short period of time, so ideal if you are looking to accelerate the learning process.
• All equipment is included: wetsuits, surfboards and boots and gloves if its in the colder months
• Use of the Escape Surf School facilities including hot showers and changing rooms
• The lesson is 2 hours long

What To Expect
Experience private coaching, with a friend or partner, with one of our experienced coaches. Ideal if you want to fast-track your surfing and have an intense session of surf coaching together. Our private 2 on 1 lessons are ideal if you and your partner or friend want to receive expert coaching but without the group environment. This offer is best suited if you are both at similar levels with your surfing, but you can be complete beginner or at a more advanced stage; we will tailor the surf coaching to your level. You will be met at the surf school by the coach, who will assess your surfing experience and tailor the lesson to your current ability. These lessons give lots of instruction and assistance over a short period of time, so ideal if you are looking to accelerate the learning process. If you have already surfed, then we will use this session to build on more advanced techniques, including paddling, turning and reading the ocean. For all abilities, we spend approximately 20 minutes on the beach discussing, technique, skills etc. then the remaining time is spent in the ocean catching waves, with hands-on coaching from the surf coach.

5.00My teenagers had a great time with their instructor Lucy. She was patient and very encouraging. The instructor was knowledgeable and really attentive. Fantastic experience. Definitely recommend Escape surf school. The kids are keen to come again!

5.00Our children had a private lesson with Henry and had their best day of surfing ever! Henry taught them so much and they caught some incredible waves (they even saw a seal!) Everyone at Escape is so friendly, knowledgeable, willing to offer advice and are really committed to making sure that the surfers get the absolutely best experience. We can’t wait to come back next year!

5.00Whilst in Newquay last week, my boyfriend and I had 3 x 2-2-1 lessons with Escape. We absolutely loved it! When we arrived, we thought we kinda knew what we were doing - turns out we didn't!! So not only did we need to learn how to surf properly, but we needed to unlearn our bad habits!! I also presented a challenge in that I suffer from Scoliosis and have limited flexibility in my spine. Ilya (our Coach) took on the challenge - and smashed it!! He was fantastic! Extremely patient, with a talent for transferring and explaining information and tips. Not only did Ilya teach us how to surf properly, but he was able to break the technique down in such a way that going forward if I fail to pop up, I can understand why - which means I'm able to progress individually. I'm probably still a few surf sessions away from being selected from the Olympic Team, but I'm a heck of a lot closer than I was two weeks ago!! Ilya was also able to explain how to read the waves - and was even able to answer bizarre questions from my boyfriend about where waves come from etc, and he gave us fantastic tips on how to buy a good board. We can't sing his praises enough!! I'd also like to mention Sim in the office - who was amazing in looking after us and being so friendly (despite my boyfriend droning on about surf boards!!), and the rest of the Coaches. Everyone made us feel so welcome and the whole school had such a good vibe to it!! The facilities are also amazing - and the fact that it's underneath Belushi's for a post-surf-pint is pretty handy too!! Overall - I would highly recommend Escape Surf School, and if we ever return to Newquay I'd definitely enquire for another lesson to progress further (although, I have a lot of practice to get that technique perfect first!). Thanks all - diolch!!

5.00Booking was really easy which we did by visiting the school (below Belushi’s Bar) the day before. On the day we were greeted by all the instructors who were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable as we were both nervous as we had never surfed before. Ilya our instructor explained everything well and was very patient with us. Can’t thank him enough for his time and help for making it a brilliant experience. This was capped off by getting our lesson captured by life out there photography who we were able to purchase photos from. 100% recommend to anyone visiting Newquay, we will be back for more lessons soon!

5.00Oh my word, we love Escape! We have been coming to this surf school for a few years now and my sons had a voucher for a private lesson that they had been given for Christmas. They went out with Reuben and had such a great time; they were buzzing when they got back. Everyone at Escape is lovely and upbeat and friendly. My boys also had several group lessons and Mike and Reuben were both fantastic - knowledgable, endlessly patient and full of enthusiasm for surfing that they were keen to share. Why would we go anywhere else? Thanks to you all for making it a great Easter break.
This surf school is the complete package.

5.00This surf school is the complete package. Amazing instructors who ensure you have a great time even if you if you’re a bit nervous. All staff could not have been more lovely and expert in squeezing you into a wet suit. 2 non surfers were stood - ladies of a certain age! Facilities so great! Hot showers. Excellent quality wet suits hats boots and mits. Lovely loos. Shampoos bars in the shower. Can’t recommend enough! 😁😁💕

All of Mike's learning techniques were effective and clear, and my sister and I were both standing up on the board from day one. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming at the surf school. We are delighted and already looking forward to coming back again soon. Fantastic experience!

5.00What a brilliant session. I visited Escape a little earlier in the day and bombarded them with questions and they were really really helpful and happy. Even telling me the best clotted cream location (Sainsbury’s😂😂😂). We had a private lesson as me and my son had never even looked at a surfboard before. Our instructor Henry was absolutely fantastic, really happy to help, loads of knowledge and just all round a genuine lad. He was really attentive in the water and helped my boy all the way so that after about an hour, he started catching waves himself. I would highly recommend Escape if you are after really friendly, attentive staff who just want you to enjoy your time. Having a hot shower after the surfing also helped.

From reception staff to other instructors pleasant , always feels like a family. See you in 2 days. If your looking to learn surfing or your an intermediate, escape is where you need to be….
