Around the Douro Valley, the most sought-after panoramic viewpoint in the region is one of the highlights of this tour, with the Douro River always present on the horizon, easily captivating us with the numerous vineyard terraces.
Be enchanted by the exquisite lunch we offer, where you can savor typical flavors in the heart of the Douro, whether at a Quinta or at chef Rui Paula's DOC restaurant, which boasts two Michelin stars.
One of the highlights of this itinerary is the tasting of the finest olive oils. Due to the rocky terrain of the Douro, not only excellent wines are produced, but the olive oil also has a unique flavor and various health benefits, making it an essential element in the region's gastronomy.
And, of course, the best and most delicate wines of the Douro will be part of your day, in a wonderful DOC wine tasting experience.

Douro First Tours and our driver Jose Ricardo were outstanding. They were punctual, insightful/knowledgable and lots of fun. I would highly recommend them for an overview of the Douro wine country.

We (a group of four) took the wine tour with Nuno. The trip included wine tasting, a river boat cruise and a local traditional meal at a vila. The pace was very relaxed and Nuno was very helpful and fun to be with. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it and Nuno as the guide.

From the moment that our Driver (Jose Lino) picked us up promptly from our hotel reception, to the moment that he dropped up back there 9.5hrs later we had such a great day. First stop - Panoramic view point and crazy beautiful views of the terraces in the Douro valley. Then on to the vineyard for both olive oil and 5 different wines / ports - all with fluent explanations from our knowledgeable hosts at Quinta Seara D'Ordens (founded in 1792). This was followed by a Boat trip up the Douro and stories of terroir, foreign beetles, explanation of why they don't need to irrigate the terraces, superstitious Dead Lands and the secrets behind the success of the Ferreira house (ask your captain for details) before driving to the small family farmhouse for a delicious 3 course feast (yes, with more wine and port) 😁 The other guests in our party of 6 were French so Jose narrated fluently in both French and English throughout - nothing was too much trouble and we had a fantastic day to remember - thank you Jose & Douro First Tours!

First class service. MIGUEL was really knowledgeable, entertaining and friendly. Visited several places on the way up the Douro river. Had a great lunch at Royal Fraga do Douro - a traditional farmhouse ( that has accommodation also and worth considering when visited this area)

This tour was fantastic! Our guide Jose Lino was the perfect tour guide - knowledgeable, courteous, humorous, attentive to our needs, and most importantly an excellent driver :) Everything ran on time and according to schedule. The places Jose took us to were simply stunning, and the food and wine delicious. It was a perfect day - thank you Jose! We highly recommend this tour.

This was a really great exploration of the Douro valley. Our guide, David, was very fun and had a great sense of humor. He was also knowledgeable on the subject of the valley, the wine production, the geology that produces the wine, etc. The tasting portion was also a great experience, especially given that ports are not wines that our group classically even liked. We were exposed to completely different flavors in ports than we were previously familiar and came away with a new appreciation for them. The white and red were also delightful. Seeing the valley from both the top of the mountains and from the water was amazing. The terraces seen from the water were quite beautiful. The topper had to be the “lunch” meal at the end at a private location, and prepared by their chef Andréa. Such a sweetheart and the food was stunningly good. Really amazing. I only wish I could have had more but I had already eaten myself tired, it was so well prepared. Wonderful. Overall this was a very fun, beautiful, and recommended experience. Your guide can really make or break an outing and David was wonderful.
