Montenegro
Montenegro has a long tradition of wine growing, even from the Illyrian in antique times. Crmnica area around the Skadar lake National park considered to be the cradle of wine growing in Montenegro. As with many other things in our small land, this production was usually kept within the family. The wine was rarely for sale. The production was only for personal use or given as a present. A relatively dry climate, mountainous terrain, and the southern Mediterranean soil make perfect combination for the excellent wine. If you are a wine lover, or you just want to try local wine & food, we offer private tours on your request. We can take you to various private wineries in Crmnica wine region where you can let yourself enjoy the beautiful scenery and the best wine in Montenegro. You can choose whether to visit three, four or even more wineries that we have in our offer. On you request we can organize lunch or snack in all wineries.

My wife and I just did this wine tour. It was an exceptional experience. Andro, the tour guide picked us up from the hotel, as agreed, and drove us around the wider area of the lake, ensuring that we get a bunch of spots for great photos. Then we visited three wine makers, from very small to fairly large... all still "boutique" wineries though. The wines we tasted were all not "off the shelf", but unique interpretations of local grapes. One vinyard didnt even have labels on the bottles. How more "boutique" can it get. All in all: a great day, leading to "early in bed". Well done, Andro !
