Want a glowing and unforgettable night? This Bio-Bay Kayak Tour is what you need!
On this tour, you will cross a canal inside the nature reserve that is surrounded by various types of mangroves. This protects from strong winds and helps you to paddle easily in peaceful waters.
The best part of this tour is to enjoy the incredible glittering water of the "Big Lagoon"! Tiny bioluminescent organisms called "pyrodiniums bahamenses" are the responsible for this wonder of nature. They produce blue-green light from top to bottom of this bay every time you touch or move the water with your kayak!

It was fun to kayak in the dark but it was a mile and a half in each direction. It was fine but we didn’t know it would be that much kayaking.

The brightness of the water is variable, this was my 8th or 9th trip on the bay and there was just a little sparkle. I have gone where the sparkle is magical. The sky is always beautiful so if you look at it as a cool night kayaking experience you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful experience. Loved kayaking at night and seeing the dynothingies. Guides were friendly and checking on people to ensure things run smoothly. This experience is something very unique. My advice for people considering this activity (regardless of tour company) is that there are too many companies and kayaks doing this tour, and it does get overcrowded. Think kayaks bumping into each other, going very slow as the group goes as slow as the slowest kayak. Just be mentally prepared that it will be crowded, but regardless, will still be an amazing experience.

This was my favorite experience of my whole trip! I was concerned about having to kayak solo since I did the experience by myself but was able to partner with Williams one of the guides and we had the absolute best time. Once in a lifetime tour of the bio bay.

The kayak tour guides were absolutely amazing and professional throughout the entire experience. They were especially great with my daughter, showing a lot of patience and knowledge. Our guide, William, was fantastic! Even though the moon was quite bright, the team used tarps so we could see the bioluminescence. Kayaking across the bay was a blast, highly recommended!

Very disappointed, we could only see the glow with a tarp over us! And that was for only 5 mins. after 1.5 hours of paddling through a frustrating mess of inexperienced (or drunk) college kids. Paddles flying everywhere, no one staying in single file! Guides were not professional. They tried to make it more exciting by trying to get us to sing, that was lame. Mosquito Bay in Vieques was a million times better and well worth the overnight stay (due to the ferry schedule).

Had a Great time. It is basically pitch black. But the guides are great going up and down the line keeping everyone together. Guides were amazing!! So much fun- just a warning you get wet (like basically all of you)

We were so excited for this trip! Unfortunately, we were placed in a kayak that fit three, the front two seats had no back rests, and the kayak took on a tremendous amount of water. It was most unpleasant to sit in 4 inches of water for the whole trip. The equipment is not up to standard kayaks as we have kayaked quite a bit in several locations. I wouldn't risk being uncomfortable; I'd suggest booking with another company.

It was fun Kayaking through the trees and the bioluminescence was cool, not what the pictures look like, much less intense however it was neat! There was major traffic getting there and it put our travels back 40 minutes and we got there a few minutes past the top date, everyone wa gone already but after convincing them we already knew how to kayak they let us quickly jump on a kayak and catch up so we were SO grateful after spending and hour and a half driving there. So I would have REALLY appreciated an option for pick up and drop off because people like us staying an hour away dont know about the extra 40minutes travel planning time for traffic and it jsut makes things so much easier to have transportation available as an option. But besides that they were really super nice and it was really fun, just dont expect a light up show in the water its not that spectacular but I think its worth it, I haven't seen it before so it was neat!

Extremely fun. I did the tour with my two college age daughters. We all loved it. Feels like you are going on an adventure. The guides are very enthusiastic. Make sure to have a meal a few hours prior as you will be doing a lot of rowing. Would recommend to take a 6:30 tour rather than 8:30 for several reasons. You get to see the sunset and breathtaking views. It is also easier to get a hang of your kayak during the daylight.
