As a healthy but non-athletic family of four, ranging from preteen to middle aged, we were a little nervous about kayaking in the dark, but they sent four experienced people with the group, and helped anyone who got stuck. For beginners, the route is tricky, and we ran into each other and trees a lot. But there was always a staff member there with a light to help us get out of whatever we had gotten into. The bioluminescence was incredible, annd well worth the trip. Additionally, we could see so many stars and planets in the sky without light pollution.

We were happy with Yokahu Bio Bay Adventure Tour experience. The checkin was challenging online because of a glitch in checkin form but once we were onsite the guys were great. Once out on water they had 3 single kayaks "herding" us into single line to navigate the mangove channel. Once out on lagoon they gathered all boats and provided tarps to cover our kayaks to get benefit of seeing the bioluminescent in the water. We had perfect evening after dark with no moon so we felt we should have seen more. With tarp it helped get idea but front ends of kayaks were tied together so the front person in kayak didnt have access to water to see. This should be handled differently perhaps tie smaller groups if needed because there were 3 single leaders. This is one reason for 4 rating. It was alittle more challenging than we expected but did it! Definitely a upper body workout against tide.Going in we were against tide and coming out we had more relaxing time going with current. There were too many other groups kayaking in the mangrove channel at once. That was not fun playing bumper cars in dark as we were pushed by other kayaks into mangrove trees multiple times. Glad we did the trip and recommend to try, but once is enough.

Although the bioluminescent waters were a bit disappointing, the staff were wonderful. Kayaking thru mangroves in the dark was an experience in itself. Plan on getting wet!

The guides were great! Better to go when moon is less full to better experience the glow. The only way to see it was with tarps over the kayaks. Also recommend wearing swimwear because you do get wet and that wasn’t very clear in the tour information.

The guides were great! They managed to keep everyone together and showed us an amazing time. Would recommend some kayaking experience, if nothing else, to make the experience pleasant for everyone 😉

Was anxious about kayaking at night as I’m not that confident in my swimming but Lloyd, Joshua, Jonathan, Jensen, and Williams all made sure we were briefed properly, and everyone was safe and accounted for. Thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.

The tour guides were great and the experience was amazing!! Well worth the drive from San Juan. The 5:45pm start time was also great because we caught the sunset on the water

Very well-organized, professional and fun guides - beautiful to paddle into the mangroves at night. The bioluminescence was challenged due to the moonlight, but the guides brought black tarps which helped.

overall good experience! all the guides were chill and fun. the kayaking was a little physical so watch out if you’re not up for it. however the bioluminescence was minimal and you have to see it while covered under a tarp (better than not seeing it at all) but just temper expectations. the whole thing took a little over an hour and they gave us snacks and water after
