What To Expect
You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Punta Cana/Cap Cana/Bavaro and taken to the our ATV base. After pickup and transportation, the group will receive a short safety briefing (10 min), then start the ATV adventure through jungle and wild beach to the RIVER side.
Playa La Vacama
Driving through a local village and along scenic fields, we enter the jungle and reach a hidden wild beach — a true paradise with no crowds, no hotels, only nature and the ocean just for us. Here you can swim, relax, and enjoy the peace of untouched nature.

5.00By far our favorite thing we did on vacation. We are a family of four, Dad, Mom and 2 boys ages 11 & 13. Pick up from our hotel in Bávaro was fine. You are in a van with the other people on the tour and they take you to the starting point and then back to your hotel afterwards.They are easy to communicate with via WhatsApp. We rode with 1 adult and 1 kid on each ATV. We have some ATV experience but there were others on the tour that didn’t have prior ATV experience and they did fine. You need to wear comfortable shoes, doesn’t need to be closed toe shoes it could be sandals just as long as they are comfortable and you’re ok with them getting sandy/dusty/muddy. You can bring your own bandana for your face or buy one there for $5 or go without which we did. You get dusty but it’s not too bad. You can bring a bag or backpack that will be tied down to the front of your ATV which will get dusty too so just heads up to bring something you don’t mind getting a little dirty. The family that runs it is very nice, the ATVs all run great and are in good shape. They take pictures and videos for you that they send you in WhatsApp through a link and you don’t have to pay extra for on top of the excursion price which is nice. You ride along the beach, then to a Dominican family home where you try fresh coconut and coffee. Then our group split up, we chose the mountain/River option so after a quick swim in the ocean off we went. We went through trails, up hills, and even through the River a few times. It was so fun. The adults and kids all enjoyed it! Our guide was good at warning us of changes in terrain and when to slow down and speed up. The whole thing lasted about 4 hours plus the time to and from the resort. We really enjoyed taking in the countryside, river, beach, etc all in one excursion. The ATVs go fast, we went around 60mph at times. I booked this excursion after reading other positive reviews and happy to say we had an amazing experience too! You won’t regret booking it!

5.00Excellent excursion! A transport met us at the hotel at the agreed time and from the area of "Playa de Arena Gorda" was a 45 min trip to the base where the guides were waiting for us with the ATVs. After an explanation about the safety and operation of the vehicles we leave with the ATVs, which look well maintained and are super powerful. They took us on a jungle road that lined incredible beaches (not tourist), where we made the first of 2 stops, for about 20 min for photos on the beach and the option of a dip in the sea. Hence a short walk of about 5 min until we reached a typical rural house where the family showed us the ripeness of the coconut and the use of the fruit according to it, and we also shared local coffee. Leaving the rural house, we started heading to a mountain road passing through some towns until we reached a very mountainous area with incredible views. It had rained a few hours before, so it was super fun to walk past the giant pools of water and mud that were on the way. We arrive at the river where we make a crossing to the other bank and back, and then we start the return by the same mountain road that then takes us to a paved road passing through beautiful villages until we reach back to the base where the transport awaited us to take us back to the hotel. The amazing guides with the attention and explanations, answering all our questions throughout the tour and also provided us with photos of the tour at no extra charge. Super recommended!

5.00Great time, hosts were fantastic. Great excursion if you want to get away from the traditional touristy groomed trails. Would have loved a bit longer of tour through the river, however, still enjoyed the day. Highly recommend and will book again next year.

5.00This is one of the best excursion I had. The journey was amazing. We did 2 stops. The first one was to see the magnificent ocean and the second was to see a house of a typical family in a rural area. Afterwards we went in the mountain and the views were amazing. They provide pictures of the excursion without charging us for it. All 3 were super friendly and answered all our questions. You have to try it. 🙂

5.00I loved the small group size, the route and views from the ATV! The stops were excellent and nicely timed for breaks from driving the ATVs. The tour operators are wonderful! Sent us video and pics from the day. This was a great way to see the natural countryside in the DR. My teen son liked the adventure on the ATV, my daughter liked stopping at the home and tasting the coffee and coconuts, and I liked seeing the natural beauty of the countryside.
