The national congress site and museum were great to see, and Penny was a very informative tour guide. The poster museum was a big highlight for me. It had many amazing posters from different eras with historical info, as well as a shop with posters to buy, books, and other cool takeaways. Highly recommend.

A highly informative tour. Penny is lovely, very knowledgeable about the subject and spoke excellent English. It was great to be able to overlay the story from the museums with the personal account of a local. Penny met me at my hotel and arranged all the taxis and museum entrances. Well worth it!

The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! We learned a lot of interesting history on this impressive tour. The tour guide was also very accommodating to my daughters special wish for ice cream in the middle of the tour and helped us track down a nice store with delicious chocolate ice cream.

Penny is the best possible tour guide you could imagine for this red route tour. She was extremely knowledgable about shanghai and China's history through thousands of years, particularly modern history. She set the context of the key milestones throughout China's history, connecting all the dots in my mind. She was very accommodating with our tour, starting early as we had a flight to catch after the tour. She also was very generous with her time, adding so much detail to the museums. We highly recommend this tour and Penny and would love to come back and hear more about China's history. Great value, very accessible with hotel pickup. 10/10.

This tour was everything I hoped it would be, and more! I was very excited to learn about China’s recent culture and history. My tour guide was PENNY, who was incredibly knowledgeable. Her explanations helped me better understand the information that I was exposed to during the tour. PENNY understands the nuances of English very well, which makes her an outstanding communicator and guide. In addition, she’s very friendly and thoughtful.

The tour was excellent and our tour guide Penny was extremely knowledgeable. She’s been a tour guide for over 10 years and had a very interesting mix of personal stories and history. Would highly recommend. I’m excited to do more of their tours next time I return to Shanghai.

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Shanghai. Our guide Penny gave us a concise and lively background to the history of China and how different colonial countries made their mark on this vast country. Penny was attentive, friendly, humorous and very passionate about the historical tapestry of her homeland. The CPC museum was both solemn, respectful and moving. The propaganda artwork museum is a must see as it shows a variety of posters that you will unlikely be able to view alone as they are kept in an unmarked building. I couldn't fault this tour or our guide Penny and I highly recommend this tour so that you can learn about China and its recent history from a perspective that is not biased by western media sources.
