Tamandua is the perfect place to experience the Ecuadorian Amazon. Staying at Tamandua means sleeping in the heart of the jungle with all the comforts of a hotel. This 3-day, 2-night all-inclusive package allows you to unwind completely and simply relax. You'll be surrounded by the unique flora and fauna of the Amazon at all times. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in an artisanal workshop and enjoy waterfalls, rivers, and lookouts with breathtaking views of Llanganates National Park and the Anzu River. Tamandua is the ideal place for a complete disconnect. Here, the only light you'll find is from 6 to 10 pm, and the only sounds you'll hear are those of nature—its animals and birds.

At 7:00 AM, the shared transportation will pick you up from your requested location and head towards Puyo. The journey lasts approximately 5 hours or more, depending on traffic.
Puyo
Once we arrive in Puyo, we'll have our lunch.
Afterward, we'll transfer to Tamandua Ecolodge, check in, unwind, and in the afternoon, embark on a hike to discover Pusculin Waterfall—a stunning 70-meter-high cascade. Here, you can refresh yourself and recharge. Upon return, we'll relish a delicious dinner accompanied by the soothing sounds of nature and its landscapes. Rest

In the morning, we'll indulge in a hearty breakfast to fuel up for an exhilarating excursion to the Upper Anzu River. In the afternoon, we'll relish a delightful lunch and engage in an artisanal chocolate workshop, using cacao native to the Amazon. As night falls, we'll gather for a sumptuous dinner and a well-deserved rest.

We'll have breakfast at Tamandua, then explore the viewpoints and observation tower to capture incredible panoramic views of the Amazon rainforest. Here, you'll have the chance to observe the rich flora and fauna, from grand creatures to the smallest of birds. In the afternoon, we'll have lunch and proceed with check-out before making our way back to Quito.

5.00A wonderful introduction to Amazonia Ecuatoriana. The lodge is gorgeous. The activities were enjoyable and educational. Vanessa is a wonderful guide and facilitator who was always attentive and responsive. The jungle is a magical place. The highlight for me was the visit to stunning Pusculin waterfall. An excellent adventure.

4.00Our room and the view were fantastic. The staff was excellent and took great care of us. Making chocolate and the jungle walk learning about the plants were interesting and fun. The meals were very good. Our guide did a great job. Rather a long drive from Quito though.
Disconnecting in the Amazon

5.00Vanessa was always in communication with me starting months in advance throughout the whole stay. We were picked up in Quito and started the long trek to the Tamandua Eco Lodge outside of Puyo. Neyser was our translator and he was so incredibly nice and helped us communicate with Jaime and Maria, our amazing staff/hosts for the few days. The wifi was out the first 1.5 days we arrived, but it was lovely to disconnect and relax. The generator turns on just in time at 6pm (until 10pm) to charge devices and such. I was traveling with my dad, which made the hike to the waterfall a little difficult, but Jaime helped him navigate tricky terrain while educating us on the local flora. Highly recommend booking this activity with Vanessa!

5.00I had an incredible time during this tour. Vanessa and Neyser speak English, are very responsive. At the lodge various hikes and workshops are offered. They provide well balanced meals and everybody is very kind. I truely got to disconnect from the city-life and relax. It is quite a long, but scenic journey from Quito, but it is totally worth it!

5.00I highly recommend this tour! Vanessa, the tour organiser is really lovely. She communicates plans clearly so you know what to expect. She even gave me a thank you gift! I forgot my trainers on the tour and she ensured I got them the next day. Tamandua lodge itself is out of this world; really peaceful and enveloped by nature, and so many birds! I could go on. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome.
