This is the original small-group RIB boat tour from Akureyri. Join us for a thrilling 2-hour adventure zooming the fjord between the magnificent mountains along with our best and most experienced guide and skipper.

We will travel the fjord in search for seabirds and whales that reside in the fjord. Once we've caught a sight of the wildlife, we will be sure to maintain a safe and respectable distance - in our experience, this provides the best quality encounter, for both whale and watcher!

Minimum age is 10 years of age or 145 cm (4 ft 7 in).

In the unlikely event of cancellation due to not enough passengers, you will be offered an alternative or a full refund.

The tour is subject to favourable weather conditions. If cancelled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.

Passengers may be required to sign a waiver on arrival stating that you understand the risk of booking said tour.

You must fit into one of our overalls (3-XL) and be able to sit comfortably in your saddle-like seat to join the tour.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

This was amazing! A huge bucket list item for us. We saw a few humpback whales and North Atlantic bottlenose whales. We watched a whale sleep, and had them wave at us. Our guides were excellent. Very informative and educational.

Amazing experience! Professional, knowledgeable staff. We saw humpies and minkies—so close to the boat! Dress warmly. They have hats and scarves to borrow, but best to bring your own. We highly recommend!

Great experience! We had David as our guide and he was amazing, sharing all of his knowledge of these wonderful animals from his years of research. We also got lucky and saw 5 humpbacks and one minke whale so it was a tremendous all around day! That’s an unusual number to see in one day so we were grateful and honestly would have had a great time regardless of the number.

Incredible experience. The whales were right next to our boat thanks to our guides. The Rib boat experience is so much better than going on a larger boat with lots of people. I highly recommend this excursion.

We booked this trip independently during a Norwegian Cruise and From start to finish, this tour was one of the most exciting and exhilarating whale watching tours we have ever taken ( and we have done many!) we felt perfectly safe and we had an absolute blast bouncing through the icy arctic waters in search of dolphins and whales! Our guide was knowledgeable and fun! We will always treasure this tour as one of our very favorites! Don’t. pass up this opportunity!

I spent such a great moment surrounded by nature, we saw four whales, from really close. And I also loved to be in the fast boat, jumping the waves. The guide was really good.

I went at 9 pm and it was such an amazing experience. It was around 11 when we got back and this was plenty of time. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Most importantly we saw a lot of whales, all of them humpback. There were around 5 swimming around the bay while we were out there and we got very close to them. I also had my nice DSLR camera with me and did not have to worry at all about getting it wet. I'd recommend bringing a dry bag or plastic bag for transit, in case you have choppier conditions than I did. By the way, this company and Elding are exactly the same. I booked with Ambassador, but left from the Elding building.
