We enjoy boat cruises and thought the canal and river looked interesting. There are multiple river cruise operators. We did Riga by Canal Siteseeing. The cruise is interesting and relaxing with a trip along the entire canal and a good part of the Daugava River.

Disappointed by this mini cruise. No audio guide. Comments in English difficult to hear. The views of the boat are nothing exceptional. Expensive (20€/ person).

Truly boring. The canals were interesting except all the buildings are above you on each side. Only when you get to the Open water of the river can you really see the dimensions of the city. The whole tour is based on an audio recording which has the speakers near the front of the very small electric boat, which is particularly hard to hear. Unless the boat and the audio recording sync up at the right time, you're looking at stuff not at the right time. It was just incredibly boring. So if you like doing boring things, this is your thing.

The boat ride was lovely. I booked the tickets on Trip Advisor but was unable to download the tickets, as the message from trip advisor was that I would receive my tickets via email, however I did not receive them. The boat company accepted the receipt I had for the trip.

A interesting trip boat ride along the canal and also along part of the Daugava river in one of the charming quiet eco boats. We enjoyed a relaxing trip seeing and hearing about sights like Riga castle, the national theatre etc. Our boats name was Laima and I can highly recommend that you go on this tour.

This hour-long boat tour seduced our group. As we were a group, we were booked a boat just for ourselves, we benefited from a quality French comment. It's interesting to discover the city this way. I highly recommend this boat tour.

Small boats from Riga by Canal depart from Bastejkalna Park against the Monument of Freedom. There are 3 boats - small and nice and mostly quiet to glide on the waters of the city. We start by following the canals in the center of the city where we pass along the banks of the parks and see the locals rest green. Then we access the great river of the city and the view changes completely - it is large and open, and we pass under the bridges, admire the national library before returning inside through the marina to reach the starting point. A loop that lasts about an hour with comments in several languages depending on the guests - anyway you will not be numerous given the size of the boat. There were only three of us! The price of 20 EUR may seem expensive if you are a whole family obviously - a family pass would be a good idea.

The canal boat was constructed in 1953, however its diesel engine has been replaced by an electric motor. The boat therefore glides quietly through the canal allowing the passengers to enjoy the peace of the park and the scenery and buildings within it. We eventually came to the Daugava River and the Captain navigated the waterway without any problem, explaining the purpose of the buildings on the waterfront as we passed by. This was a thoroughly enjoyable excursion and well worth the money.
