Live the best possible experience in Rio de Janeiro with a local tour guide and a private driver. During this 8 hours tour, you can either follow my recommendations or personalize your tour based on your own interests. My recommendation is for sure to start by visiting the greatest sightseeing of the city: the unmistakable Christ Statue at the Corcovado Mountain and, at the opposite side, the wonderful Sugar Loaf Mountain (tickets not included).
However, Rio has so much more to offer. Here are some options that might interest you:
• Tour at the backstage of Carnaval: get to see the creation of the costumes and floats for the next Carnaval.
• Visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, inspired by the Mayan Pyramids.
• Visit the unique Selarón steps, covered with more than 2.000 tiles from more than 60 countries.
• Have a calm and chill picnic at the TIjuca Forest amidst animals and waterfalls.
• Visit the Historical Downtown.
• And much more…

I had an amazing day guided by Marlie. She organized all the details of the tour, including the time of the entrances and extras activities that I wanted to do, like the Tijuca Forest. Plus, she speaks English perfectly. The drive Marcos was also great. Really recommend it!

I was traveling solo to Rio then decided to hire Marlie as a guide and it really paid off. We first did the most classical Sugar loaf and then Christ the Redeemer. But after lunch, she took me to some more authentic places. We had a nice walk inside the Lage Park where we could have some contact with the nature and then, what I didn't expect, we went to see the backstage of the carnaval. I could see the construction of the floats and at the end I got to wear a carnaval costume worn in previous parades. I will never forget it. Also the driver Paulo was very professional.

My husband, my son and I had a full-day tour with Marlie and she was incredible! At first we weren't sure whether to hire a guide or try and do things on our own, but it was totally worth it. Marlie was so knowledgeable about the culture and history of Rio. She managed for us to skip the lines at Christ and Sugar Loaf so it saved a lot of time and then we could see other places. And plus: she's a polyglot! The driver was also very helpfull and always on time. I am going to recommend her to friends who want to visit Rio.
