In Rione Sanità, discover the alley of culture with murals in Via Montesilvano and in Vicoletto Donnaregina the alley of the women who made history. Then go see the Spanish Palace, you can not climb the stairs but, you can photograph it. It belonged to a Spanish nobleman. Today the apartments are used as a private home, B & B or municipality. Nearby you will also find the birthplace of Totó

We did the tour of the Sanità as Neapolitans... and we thought we already knew everything. Instead we had to change our minds. Living in Naples we often take certain places for granted, we cross them without really stopping to look at them. This tour of the Rione Sanità – the district of Totò – opened our eyes to details, stories and meanings that we did not know at all. The guide Valeria was extraordinary: prepared, passionate and able to tell the neighborhood not only from a historical point of view, but also human. We visited palaces and churches that from the outside we never imagined so rich in art and memory, and understood how this district is a concentrate of culture, contradictions, redemption and beauty. It was exciting to see Health with new eyes, to understand how much it has given (and continues to give) to the city, and how much work is behind its rebirth. We recommend this tour not only to tourists, but especially to Neapolitans: because sometimes we know our city less than we think. A true, intense and surprising experience. ❤️

A nice ride, really nice. Time has passed without realizing it, 2 hours of walking through history, culture, rebirth of a 'district', with Valeria's passion for what she does and where she does it.

Pleasant ride and outside the usual patterns, Valeria took us around the Sanità making us discover hidden corners and places that maybe would not have caught our attention .... Council to rely on her if you want to discover a typical and not obvious neighborhood of Naples

I am Neapolitan but thanks to the tours organized by Around with a Local I was able to discover a part of my city that I did not know. The Rione Sanità was full of surprises and Valeria was a really helpful and authentic escort. Highly recommended!!

I am Anna from Barcelona, I have done two guided tours with Valeria, to the quartiere spagnolo and the Rione Sanitario. I have loved it, Valeria transmits the history and popular soul of the city in a very professional and enjoyable way.

Your review Silvio Vola Valeria was an exquisite guide through the health ward. The tour is a slow discovery of its history and its changes: in ancient times a burial place, in the 17th century a refuge from the plague outside the walls, in the 18th century destined to welcome noble families, then became one of the most popular areas of Naples with a strong social exclusion, up to projects of rebirth and regeneration in the last twenty years with the growth of cooperatives of local youth and an interesting interweaving of art and culture. Valeria accompanies you, makes you see and know. Beautiful murals that speak of De Filippo, Troisi, Toto, sculptures by a young artist named Jago (including the “Veiled Son”), catacombs reopened after centuries of neglect, and a district that pulsates with life and new hospitality. He deserves to go, and to do it with someone who tells you, like Valeria. And I would add that with us was our border collie who was well received by everyone! Reviews
