Kayaking on Sepang River offers a tranquil and peaceful experience, away from the heavy traffic of boats. You can paddle through the winding waterways and take in the stunning scenery of the mangrove forest. The area is abundant in wildlife, and you can observe kingfishers, eagles, mud skippers, crabs, and other species up close during low tide. When the tide is high, you can explore deeper into the mangrove forest and appreciate the lush green canopy of trees.
With its calm waters and diverse range of wildlife, kayaking on Sepang River is a must-try activity for nature enthusiasts.

What To Expect
This is a fishing society and you will park your car in the car park here. You will walk into Grovey Floating House from where the kayaking station and launching platform are. Along the walk, you will see a fishing boat parking on your left side and a mangrove forest on your right side. In the early morning, sometimes monitor lizards will swim in the mangrove stream, be careful of monkeys on trees. Sometimes you will experience seeing mud skippers if the time you walk in is low tide.

A light picnic with fruits & juice at halfway of journey.
Mangroves Interpreter, our guide will explain the fauna & flora of Mangroves along the journey..

5.00Went on the River Exploration and Mangrove Nature Tour with my friends and lowkey it was one of the most surreal nature days ever. From start to finish, the vibes were just immaculate — like, imagine gliding through a natural green tunnel, birds chirping, and the water reflecting all that lush mangrove goodness.  We kayaked for a few hours thru winding channels surrounded by twisted roots and dense foliage — total nature immersion. The water was calm so even if you’re a total newbie like some of us, it was super chill and not intimidating at all. Guide was super friendly and dropped all kinds of interesting facts about the ecosystem, so it felt way more than just paddling.  Wildlife sightings were a legit highlight — we saw kingfishers, crabs, and even mudskippers doing their thing. The whole crew was stoked snapping pics and just soaking in the serenity. Midway we had a quick picnic break with dragon fruit and juice which was such a vibe after all that paddling.  Overall, this tour was 100% worth it — beautiful scenery, solid guides, and good laughs with friends. If you wanna escape the usual beach scene and get into something more magical and lowkey, this is def the move.

5.00A beautiful experience for people who love Wildlife and plants. You will learn a lot, while having a good time kayaking. The Guids will try to give you the best time possible, doesn‘t matter if you‘re experienced or total beginner. Have fun !

5.00Such a fun day kayaking. The tour guides chen and damien were amazing and tell you a lot of interesting facts about the mangroves. The mangroves and river itself were beautiful, definitely worth a visit!!

5.00We went on a mangrove kayaking tour with OutdoorGate.Asia, and it turned out to be one of the best memories from our two-week trip to Malaysia! The floating house where the tour begins was a bit tricky to find, but thanks to their helpful and responsive customer service, we made it there and entered what truly felt like a hidden world. Our guide was absolutely fantastic — incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about the environment, and eager to share insights about the unique mangrove ecosystem. We learned a lot. It was heartwarming to see how the tour supports the local community in various ways. To top it off, our guide even shared his own food and drinks with us — such a generous and personal touch. The equipment was excellent, completely adapted for the activity. We felt safe and well looked after the entire time, with clear attention paid to safety (which is so important for water activities!). The area itself is stunning and peaceful, a perfect spot for kayaking and connecting with nature. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the region. Truly a magical and meaningful experience!

5.00I loved my time here. It was a totally unique experience for me as a traveler from the US. I was able to get to the village easily using a free public bus from the airport. I stayed overnight and joined another group for a guided tour with Aivee and Art. I had kayaked before, but realized I had a lot to learn when Aivee taught us some technical skills. They taught me soooo much about the mangrove ecosystem on the tour. We saw monitor lizards, monkeys, and birds. In all, I saw 39 different species of birds around the mangrove and surrounding neighborhood. In the morning, we were lucky and saw otters playing and sunbathing near the house. At low tide, mudskippers and 3 species of crabs. I felt like I was on Animal Planet. I was glad I stayed overnight to have the full experience with both high and low tide. Thank you Art and Aivee for welcoming me and teaching me so much!

5.00Awesome, informative and relaxing sunset tour exploring the mangrove environment! I was really stoked to learn about the ecosystem from our super knowledgeable guide and see some wildlife in action too. It was a serene time - calm water, the sound of the birds and the sunset sky. Felt very safe with our guide who took great care of the group - the intro and tutorial levelled up my kayak skills too :) Love the eco aspect of the tour, we were given a net to collect any passing river trash if we wanted, it felt very satisfying to improve the environment. An epic chance to see a beautiful and internationally important ecosystem - and of course have fun in a kayak!
