4.00Great trip. Shem was our personal guide for the entire trip. He does small groups (4 or less) so if he is available ask for him. It took over an hour by car to reach the ATV site, so you know you are going somewhere remote. Along the way Shem gave us some historical info about Roatan, his family, were to eat locally, etc. He is very personable, and we really enjoyed our time with him. The regular guides were out with a larger group, so Jerlene the office manager took for the ATV ride. The pace was slow as there were multiple speed humps on paved roads and washout preventers on the dirt roads. She took us to Punta Gorda, her hometown. She explained that they had their own language separate from the rest of the island and many more facts regarding her tribe. The horseback ride was uneventful but was nice to take the short ride in the ocean. On the way back Shem took us to one of his favorite restaurants near the cruise terminal. We were concerned about the time. Shem said he promised to have us back in plenty of time. We had two lobster tails and fresh fish with rice/beans and salad for $25. Hard to beat that deal. It was a great time especially because of Shem and Jerlene.

5.00Our tour guide Neike Torres was absolutely amazing. She speaks both English & Spanish. I highly recommend her! Everyone was very friendly and kind and the local lunch was spectacular! Our favorite part was when we visited Grand Roatán Spa beach. It was breathtaking! We toured both the local side and the tourist areas of the island, allowing us to experience the natural beauty and get a glimpse of how the locals live.
Lots of fun! ATV and horseback riding are a great adventure.

5.00We booked this tour though Viator because we were looking to combine ATV with horseback riding. This was the perfect option for our two kids because these activites aligned with their interests. The horseback riding part was pretty cool because you get to ride through a small neighborhood near Coxen Hole and ride partially through ocean water. It is not a long ride (maybe 30-40 minutes). But, it is a nice journey and taste of the island. The ATV riding is on the other side of the island -- near Punta Gorda. To get there, you pass through much of the island and see many beautiful vistas and scenery. The ATV trail was great. I really liked going through the Punta Gorda area and seeing the Garifuna people who live there. The kids seemed so happy to have us ride through and were giving us high fives. Our guide, Wilson, was awesome as well. Really nice guy and good tour leader. He was very helpful and made the experience even better. Overall: Highly recommended!!
