I booked the tour last minute so was a little worried as I didn’t have data roaming once I got to Roatan but I needn’t have worried. Getting off the ship at the port was the usual chaos with lots of people asking if you wanted a tour and when I said I’d booked, they asked who with and pointed me in the right direction so everyone was super helpful. Davin was waiting for us in the melee of people with a Get Salty Roatan Tours sign as we got out of the main port area (they had messaged a couple of times regarding where they were and timings but I didn’t get these until the next day due to my roaming). He guided us out and across the street to his SUV which was clean and tidy (and cool inside). He was friendly and chatty and asked us what we wanted to do and was really flexible. We chose the main tourist route so did the Roatan sign, the chocolate factory, rum factory, the Mayan Jungle animal + zip line park and West Bay Beach for a few hours. At the Mayan Jungle Park we got to see their animals with the highlight being the moneys and sloths. Our guide Ivan was knowledgeable and explained you can no longer hold the sloths which I was happy about as it wouldn’t have felt right to do so. All the animals look well cared for and there’s a sense of pride from the people working there. Davin was an excellent guide and gave us insights into what island life was like which was interesting. He was considerate of everything we wanted to do and how long we wanted to stay in places. At the beach, he agreed a time to meet up to check in on us and then we extended a little longer as the beach and water was beautiful. There are a lot of traders walking up and down the beach and as tourism is the main income of the island, you can understand why they are keen. A simple, no thanks (or gracious, no) and they when on their way. I would say if I ever get to go back to Roatan, I’d like to see more of the interior parts although the island is super small, it’s really pretty so would be nice to see some of the local places. We made sure we allowed plenty of time to get back to the port as the road is busy as there’s only one main way in and out of the area. Davin drove carefully so we didn’t feel any stress at all. At the end of trip, when Davin dropped us off at the port, he gave us a hug and it felt like leaving a friend and happy memories of the day. Get Salty Roatan Tours is a family run business and as it was the 2 of us in the car, you really get that personal, family feel so I highly recommend them.

We had a great time on our private tour! Communication before the tour was easy as they always responded promptly. Upon arrival at the port, we were guided by one of the co-owners who is a lifelong resident of the island and he shared info about the history and culture of Roatán while driving us to our various stops (scenic overlook, souvenir shopping, chocolate factory, and rum factory). He made sure that everyone in our group enjoyed themselves, and ended the tour by taking us to a great local restaurant for an authentic island lunch. We will definitely book with this company the next time that we visit the island!

From start to finish our guide David showed us the best day ever! Sloths ( item on my bucket list) monkeys and parrots! Rum and chocolate tasting! Ending with lunch at great restaurant on a beautiful beach! We felt safe which is SO important! Everyone we came in contact with was friendly polite and helpful. I think your guide makes or breaks your experience because their knowledge of how you want to spend your time is so important. David made sure we did everything we wanted to do and then some! SO glad we booked with Get Salty!

We had Devain! He gave us the ins and outs of the islands, history, and had a great sense of humor. We were able to see and hold sloths, monkeys, toucans, and more. Had a great meal, stopped for shopping, and brought us to a local market to get authentic Honduran coffee. He made sure to get us back to our ship on time as well! Highly recommend!

BOOK THIS TOUR NOW!! Dewey gave us the best tour, customized it to meet our requests and truly just catered to us all day. We were picked up right at the port, had a private van for our group of 9. Dewey took us to all the main spots and got us there before the big tour buses. We had an absolute magical day and fell in love with Roatan.

First time visiting Roatan and had a blast with our guide “Dewey” from Get Salty Roatan Tours. We booked the private tour and we visited Aj’s Monkeys and sloth and the chocolate and rum cake factory. From start to finish Dewey explained every places we visited, he explained so well it made me want to live in Roatan lol. My foot muscle got tight as I came off my ship and Dewey was very supportive and helpful. Attached are pictures from our tour, I definitely would recommend Get Salty tours to anybody who’s traveling either by air or sea to book a tour with them as the tour was very informative, inexpensive and comfortable. Thank you Get Salty Roatan Tours for this wonderful experience!

Dewey was great at correspondence while booking and more than accommodating to our group of 12-ranging from age 11 to 73! He gave great directions for where to get picked up at the cruise port & was on time getting us back to the ship! He had a very nice/clean/air conditioned van with complimentary water. He was very knowledgeable about Roatan and showed us so many hidden gems of this beautiful city. We loved the sloth and monkey sanctuary! Dewey and his family offered a top notch excursion for a great price and we had the best day of our trip with him.He was so kind to take a few group pictures for us as well. I would highly recommend this tour if you are coming to Roatan!

David met us (myself, my husband, and best friend) directly after walking off the boat and took us to see sloths, birds and monkeys! what a pleasure. Then proceeded to take us to the reef where we were taken by boat to the reef for an 1.5-hour tour which was amazing, the water the reef, shells, fish, and huge lobsters. He then took us to another area to take a boat over to a private beach where we were able to get food, swim and hang out. David ensured we spent enough time at each adventure and that we made our cruise ship back in enough time to shop. We will be back soon! and back to having David to show us around again! Thank you David your amazing and made our day!
