What To Expect

Your snorkel adventure begins with a convenient pick-up from your location. Our friendly and experienced guide will greet you and ensure you're comfortable before we set off. Enjoy a scenic 15-20 minute drive to our private dock, where you can relax and take in the sights of the local area. Upon arrival at the dock, our knowledgeable staff will assist you in selecting and fitting your snorkel gear. We'll provide all the necessary equipment, including masks, snorkels, and fins, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit. Our team will give you a brief overview of how to use the equipment and answer any questions you may have. At the snorkeling spot, you'll have the opportunity to explore vibrant coral reefs and observe a diverse array of marine life. Dive into the crystal-clear waters and immerse yourself in the underwater world, where you might encounter colorful fish, fascinating corals, and maybe even a sea turtle or two. Our guide will be with you to point out interesting sights and ensure your safety throughout the adventure.

Of all the things we did on our cruise, this was by far the best! We were picked up by a sweet older man who is a generational Roatanian with vast knowledge of the island and community. He drove us to the boat location and shared that his son and granddaughter both worked there. The boat wasn’t fancy but it didn’t need to be, there was seating with shade for the short ride out to the reef and back. Our guide, Joseph, was delightful. The day was a bit overcast and rainy but Joseph stayed positive and joked that we could check snorkeling in the rain off our bucket list. It was clear the boat captain and Joseph had a good working routine. Joseph lead us snorkeling for 45 minutes along the reef and the boat followed. The variety of fish we saw was amazing and Joseph was good at pointing out the trickier ones to see, along with a lobster, conch, and nurse shark. I appreciated the respect and care Joseph showed by not touching any living thing and that he didn’t “enhance” the experience by chumming. My husband and I liked that this excursion felt more personal and less touristy. If we ever get the chance to return to Roatan we will do more snorkeling with this company. 10 out of 10 recommend!

We had a great experience with ROA. Pick up at the dock went smoothly, and we were driven out to the dock. They gave us instructions, loaded us onto the boat, and took us on the short boat ride to French Cay. Our snorkeling guides led us along the reef. We saw so many types of fish! Got to peer over the edge of the drop-off into deep water. It was a great time on the water. Especially appreciated was the coordinator pointing out to me that I had double- booked, and to reach out to have one of them cancelled. They didn’t have to do that; an example of excellent, above and beyond service. Would highly recommend going out with ROA!

Jennifer picked me up right outside the port and was fantastic on both our drive there and back to port. Informative on the area and kept the drive interesting and like taking a car ride with a friend. Staff were great when I got to ROA…everyone. Viel was my guide in the water. AWESOME!!! He knew where to find certain fish and showed me what he thought was the most beautiful fish and I had to agree. Let me snorkel at my own pace, making sure I didn’t stray too far. I excursion alone and this group of people made me the most comfortable I have ever been on my adventures. I never had a single worry about anything. I can say my next trip to Roatán will include ROA and snorkeling. RECOMMEND!!!

Highly recommend this company (ROA when you are looking for them when you walk out of port). We had a nice snorkeling trip with great guides, Eulie, Erickson and William. Nice short boat ride with lovely reef and fish right to the drop off. We had our own driver Joe who was great. We will definitely book with this company next time probably for scuba diving.

This was a wonderful experience from start to finish! A short walk past the port shops to the Main Street and we found our driver and host for the day, Keylie. As she drove us to the dock, she shared history about Roatan and how life was growing up there. Despite the primary language being English, they have a specific accent they use to create a different sound. It was so cool to hear her say a sentence in both accents. The team at ROA are true experts of the water ways and all of the best places to snorkel. They keep the group size small (unlike mtours provided by cruise lines). There was one other couple and then a small family of four on our snorkel trip. ROA assigned individual guides to each group basically giving all of us a private tour guide while snorkeling. Our guide took our under water camera and dove even deeper than we could to get some awesome pics of stingray swimming by. After the snorkeling, Keylie took us to a souvenir shop and a local grocery store. She explained that the rum you get at the Rum Factory (the tours given by cruise lines) isn’t even the rum the locals drink. She said locals would never even think of buying and drinking that rum. She showed us the rum they drink that’s half the price and available at their grocery. I can not recommend them more! What a true gem to have found them for our time in Roatan!

I booked my Roatan snorkel adventure the day before we got to port. Great communication with Herbert. Walked off the ship and ROA had someone to greet me. We walked to meet the others snorkeling in the group. They keep the groups small so everyone a get personalized attention. David was our tour guide for the 30 minute van ride from Royal Caribbean dock to the snorkel boat. 3 different stops to snorkel. Garret was our guide. He pointed out different fish, lobsters and other sea creatures. Amazing time. I wish I had brought an underwater camera. Will definitely book another tour with ROA the next time I visit Roatan .

Roatan Ocean Adventures is an amazing company with amazing staff. Very informative and helpful with every step of the day. Uiel and Herbert were great! The reef is something everyone should experience. We will be coming back with friends next year to see it again. The double-seat kayak was great for my husband and me. Uiel shared lots of information about the island while on the kayaks. The smaller group sizes were perfect. The water is beautiful.

Herbert and Uiel were absolutely phenomenal. We went on three different snorkel adventures while in Roatán and this one was by far the best. Not only were we treated like family, but they were so knowledgeable about where to snorkel for a fantastic and unique experience. I'd highly recommend Roatan Ocean Adventures for any tour.

Easy to find coming off of the carnival cruise. Norma was our driver and was amazing!! Knew the island like the back of her hand and was so fun to talk to. Dropped us off to snorkel. The snorkeling was amazing as well. The reef was beautiful and the guides were so informative and friendly. After snorkeling Norma asked if we wanted to stop anywhere. We asked for suggestions and she took us to an amazing animal encounter place. After that she took us to a local seafood restaurant. Fish was amazing, pool was nice and cats were friendly. Overall I highly recommend this company and WILL be booking with them again.
