Hop aboard a comfortable electric golf cart for an impressive underground tour of the Appian Way Catacombs. This journey takes you back to the 3rd century AD, exploring Rome's intriguing history, away from the city's chaos and traffic. Our driver will transport you safely to one of Rome's most hidden and curious destinations: the first Christian catacombs, a place of burial and worship for early Christians. An official guide will introduce you to the history of this ancient site during a 40-minute visit. You'll be amazed and fascinated by the mysteries of these extensive labyrinths of tombs, sepulchers, and sacred places, uncovering a lesser-known side of Rome's history. The golf cart shuttle departs from our office near the Colosseum, heading towards the Via Appia Antica, the queen of ancient Roman roads, within one of the world's most beautiful and extensive archaeological parks.

Experiencing the Apian way and catacombs - in a golf cart!

5.00For our final day in Rome, we did this golf cart tour along the ancient Appian way passing by the Baths of Caracalla, part of the aqueducts, Church of Domine Quo Vadis, and the Catacombs of St. Callixtus. Our guide, Cristina, was fantastic! Riding in the golf cart was a great way to experience the Appian Way, and we could smell the oleander trees that lined the road to the catacombs. After the tour, Cristina dropped us off back to our hotel for not extra charge.

5.00This golf cart tour to the Appian Way and the catacombs was marvellous. Our driver and guide, Cristina, was wonderful - enthusiastic, friendly and very helpful. The drive from near the Colosseum took us past a range of notable sites along the way, and Christina gave us a great commentary on each of them. Being in an open air golf cart was a special thrill to our 10 year old granddaughter and it was a memorable experience for her to walk on the Appian Way on the same paving stones as people in ancient Roman times.
Excellent visit to the catacombs.
