Step into a real Roman kitchen and prepare traditional Italian dishes with your own hands, guided by Ilaria in a warm and welcoming home. Along the way, you’ll discover the small family tricks behind each recipe — the gestures, timing, and instincts that rarely make it into cookbooks.
This is not a cooking class in the traditional sense.
It’s an authentic experience in a real Roman home in Trastevere, where you cook together, share stories, drink wine, and sit around the table just like locals do. No professional kitchen — just a family home, real food, and genuine connection.
If you truly want to understand what Italian cooking feels like, there’s no better place than a family kitchen. Born and raised in Rome, Ilaria comes from three generations of chefs and loves sharing not only recipes, but also the memories, traditions, and everyday rituals behind them.

This experience is designed for everyone : complete beginners, confident home cooks, couples, solo travelers, and families with children. With a small group of no more than 6/8 guests, there’s plenty of time to cook, chat, ask questions, and enjoy each moment at a relaxed and unhurried pace. Together, you’ll make fresh pasta from scratch, shaping three classic types : Fettuccine, Ravioli, and Orecchiette. You’ll then prepare three traditional sauces — cacio e pepe, fresh tomato sauce with basil, and Norma sauce — using seasonal ingredients and time-honored techniques. Than you’ll prepare Tiramisu following Ilaria’s family recipe : simple, authentic, and deeply satisfying. Along the way, you’ll enjoy small appetizers, wine, and plenty of conversation. Once everything is ready, you’ll sit down together to share the meal — often the most memorable part of the experience, when cooking naturally turns into connection. You’ll leave with practical cooking skills, recipes that truly work at home, and above all, the memory of time spent in a Roman kitchen where strangers become guests, and guests leave feeling like friends.

Aria was amazing and she showed us the process of making many different pastas which we our selves made with her instruction. It was an amazing experience such a beautiful lady to open up her home and teach us her wonderful pasta dishes and the apps were so yummy as well.

Ilaria was amazing! She made us feel so welcome and at home from the moment she greeted us in her home. The food we made was delicious! Her ingredients so fresh and easy to find when we want to make the recipe on our own. The recipe is also quite easy to follow. This was hands down the BEST part of our trip to Rome, specifically Trastevere. Many thanks, Ilaria!

Wonderful small group cooking class with pasta, tiramisu, and an appetizer. Three kinds of pasta were made so we really got some experience with rolling, cutting, and shaping. It was really good and seems like the skills we learned can be replicated at home! And we learned some ideas for sauces that were unexpected! The food was yummy!!!

This cooking class in Trastevere was easily one of the best experiences of our entire trip to Rome. The moment we walked into Aria’s beautiful home, it didn’t feel like a tourist activity at all. It felt like being welcomed into a real Roman family home. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and incredibly authentic. Aria and her husband were wonderful hosts. They made everyone feel comfortable immediately. Her husband had a fantastic sense of humor and such a positive attitude that the whole class felt fun and relaxed from the beginning. Aria was an excellent teacher. Her instructions were clear and easy to follow, and she patiently showed us every step of the cooking process. During the class we learned how to prepare several traditional Italian dishes, including Cacio e Pepe, Pasta alla Norma, fresh ravioli with ricotta and spinach filling, homemade tomato sauce, vegetable batter, and an incredible Tiramisu. Everything felt authentic and hands-on. We laughed, cooked together, shared stories, and enjoyed the food we made in a beautiful Roman home. I was enjoying myself so much that time flew by. If you want something genuine, personal, and memorable in Rome, this is an experience I highly recommend. Aria is an incredible host and this class feels more like spending an evening with friends than attending a cooking class. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
