Embark on an unforgettable adventure into the frozen Arctic wilderness with your Korouma Canyon Frozen Waterfalls Tour. Located 110 kilometers southeast of Rovaniemi, the 30-kilometer-long and up to 130-meter-deep Korouoma Canyon offers breathtaking scenery year-round. In winter, its cliffs transform into dazzling ice formations, creating some of Europe's most spectacular frozen waterfalls. Join your guided hike through the canyon, where you'll strap on winter boots to navigate the snowy terrain. Along the way, snap photos of the impressive frozen waterfalls and stunning ice formations. After the hike, warm up with a traditional Finnish campfire snack and hot juice served around a roaring bonfire. Your tour includes professional winter clothing, winter boots, all fees and taxes, private transportation, snacks, and hotel pick-up/drop-off for accommodations outside the city center. This full-day tour, lasting around 7 hours with approximately 5 kilometers of walking, will leave you back in Rovaniemi by 16:00. 5.00I really enjoyed this tour, and honestly our guide Mirco is what made the whole experience even better. Be prepared to spend an entire day on this trip, and if you are staying close to the Book Lapland HQ, I definitely recommend starting there since that is usually where the tour begins. Also, definitely use the bathroom before leaving because having to take off all your layers out there becomes a huge fiasco. If you have your own good hiking gear and layers, bring them, because it will make the hike a lot easier and more comfortable. Hiking to see the Korouoma frozen waterfalls in -25°C was definitely not easy, but Mirco truly looked out for us the entire time. Before we even started, he made sure everyone had the right clothing and was properly prepared, which I really appreciated. The hike itself is relatively easy overall, except for the icy parts, because those can get very slippery, but Mirco guided us really well and showed us the safest ways to get through those sections without falling or getting hurt. He also took pictures of us even though that was not included, and his hands were freezing, so that was such a kind gesture. During lunch, he also made sure we were warm and well fed. The sausages may not be the best you will ever have, but I still enjoyed them because the whole experience of cooking and eating there in the middle of nature was so special. Of course the waterfalls were beautiful and worth seeing, but what really stayed with us most was the experience itself and how we felt throughout the hike. It was truly wonderful.

5.00Amazing frozen waterfall experience in Finland! We had an unforgettable experience exploring the frozen waterfalls in Finland. Our guide, Luca, was extremely professional and knowledgeable, and made us feel safe at all times, even in challenging icy conditions. He explained everything clearly, shared interesting facts about the area and the ice formations, and adjusted the pace to the group’s abilities. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the whole trip was very well organized. Luca’s passion for nature and winter adventures really showed and made the experience even more special. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Finland in winter and looking for a unique, adventurous experience. Truly a highlight of our trip!
