Korouoma Canyon is one of the largest natural attractions that Lapland has to offer. It is a bedrock fracture zone which is millions of years old.

The Korouoma Canyon is home to a diverse range of animal species, such as deer, wild hare, foxes, and golden eagles. Occasionally, one can spot enthusiastic ice climbers ascending the frozen waterfalls despite the frigid weather. Along the Koronjää trail, one can admire three of the largest and most stunning frozen waterfalls in Korouoma.

The Korouoma area is a perfect destination for a day tour, with numerous lean-to shelters with campfire spots available in the area. A campfire break with snacks is included to keep you warm and energised throughout the day.

At the bottom of the canyon there's Korojoki River, which ends up to Kemijoki River. There are plenty of species in varied nature of Korouoma, including Deers, Wild Rabits, Foxs, and Golden Eagles.Hiking is a perfect activity for the whole family as anyone can do it - no previous experience required. With winter overalls and proper boots anyone can walk in deep snow without any type of cold. The Koruoma Waterfalls are magic and remain frozen until late spring. Our Guido Tia Was perfect, very very nice. The Tour was cool, Lunch was fine as well . Take warm clothes with you 😉

Oh my guide was so lovely i'm really glad she was my guide. She got some photos and videos of me, was really knowledgeable. I booked this as a group trip as I'd read it would be hard to do solo. As i had a hire car i could have done this easily myself. But, if you dont fancy a 1.5hr drive in the ice i would 100% recommend this tour. Its not a hard walk but some points are really slippy and need a bum slide down. The forest is stunning. The company will give you boots, gloves & overalls if you need them. You get sausages & corn to roast on the fire and hot berry juice. I really enjoyed it and I now keep listening to the Finnish songs we listened to in the van ♡ I've forgotten the guides name Almia maybe.

With a rental car, the whole family can Enterprise this hike alone. From the car park you walk on well-excellent hiking trails through the nature park on a distance of about 6 km. In any case, you have to be good on foot and dress warmly. There are a few icy, sloping spots on the route equipped with railings to hold on to. The kids sit on their bottoms, it's fun. Warm drinks and a snack should be packed as a family to take short breaks at spectacular views of the falls. Once we have reached the end of the tour, you can find yourself in a small café Warm up.

We had a magic experience… landscape was something you can see only in films. It was very cold, but Guillermo helped us giving all the clothes we need to be warm. What makes the experience perfect was our guide Guillermo: we has been kind, patient and explained us many things. We could see how much He loves his job!! After the walking we had sausages meat in front of fire and it was very nice to be there together. We really reccomend Guillermo as guide, he was the best!!!

We had a very great time with Guillermo visiting the frozen falls. The place is nice and the trekking makes you live a real Finnish experience. Guillermo is a skilled and professional tour guide, very recommended.

Very nice 5 km walk accessible to many, great barbecue. Unfortunately in the 3 waterfalls, one was really frozen. I suppose it was a little too early in the season but it is true that even here we see climate change.

Waterfalls and Korouma area beautiful. Saw reindeers by side of road on way to and from the waterfalls. Guide was helpful, patient and very informative - really enjoyable day.
