The boat shed has been operating for over 100 years on the Otokia creek, this is the only boat rental business in Brighton Dunedin and the creek runs through the Otokia Marsh & Wetlands area, which is a natural oasis with birds and native trees that can only be accessed by boat. The row boats are able to carry a family of up to 2 adults and 3 children which makes it a great family activity.

Perfect for family adventures, take turns at paddling using the oars and have a lot of fun learning how to steer the boat. Up to 4 Row Boats available for group adventures. Life jackets provided.

We created memories our family will laugh about for years 😄. Even the historical boatshed we started from is so cool and quirky, and the young, surfie dudes working there, who were off duty surf lifeguards, were so chilled and friendly. This has got to be the most affordable, family activity around. It's like something out of the 80's , both in old school adventurousness and the cheap price! Beautiful creek once you paddle upstream for 10 minutes or so and a massive wetland restoration project that is underway we paddled through on the journey. Very cool to think part of our boat hire cost goes towards this project 💚 . Higly recommend.
