Experience one of Idaho’s classic river adventures on a full-day whitewater rafting trip down the legendary Salmon River—known as the “River of No Return.” This guided rafting journey covers roughly 20 miles of beautiful canyon scenery, exciting Class III rapids, and calm stretches perfect for swimming and relaxing.
Your experienced river guides lead the way through fun whitewater while sharing stories about the history, wildlife, and lore of the Salmon River canyon. Between rapids, enjoy time to float, swim in warm river pools, and take in the rugged landscapes of central Idaho.
Midway through the trip, stop at one of the Salmon River’s famous white sand beaches where your guides prepare a fresh riverside lunch. Relax, play beach games, or soak up the sunshine before continuing your adventure downstream.
This full-day rafting trip is ideal for families, friends, and first-time rafters looking for the perfect balance of excitement, scenery, and authentic Idaho river time.

What To Expect
Your first stop will be at our outdoor center, Mountain River Outdoor Center. You will check in with one of our adventure specialist and get ready for a fun day on the water! Your shuttle driver and guide will meet you at the outdoor center.

5.00This trip was a bucket list item for years and I finally made it happen with my husband for our 39 year anniversary. What w great adventure we had. You just gotta book it. The guides, the food, the campsites, the river rafting, the starry night, the pitch dark night, the gruver, all of it gets a 5 star rating. Ask for Jenna, Noah, Tyler and Nick! What a guide team. 4 days, 3 nights was just right for me.p

5.00Very well organized. Our guide Chris is exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable about the area geology. He prepped a very healthy lunch. He went straight to the rapids and exceeded our expectations. Will come back in the spring. Overall a great experience. Will recommend this to others.

5.00AJ, Emmy, and Jack took our company down the main salmon for the perfect weekend overnight. The guides were knowledgeable, fun, and i always felt our safety was their top priority. Meals on the trip were top rate and the gear provided was fantastic. Would float with this company again in a heartbeat.

4.00IT was great, would have liked to have are other group not drinking so much and drunk.. they tool several of our drinks and drank them then bragged about it. We did enjoy our guide and time we had. the water was great.

5.00It rained all day but our guide Jack kept us motivated and we had an awesome trip we got to the end and found out there had been a mudslide and we couldn’t get back to Riggins. They all stayed positive and we made the best of the situation. Great job to them all this was our fifth trip with MRO and all have been amazing

5.00MRO has the highest level of integrity. We scheduled our trip far in advance when they had a full boat. Others cancelled and it's probably they lost money on the trip but still went forward with the journey so they wouldn't spoil our plans. I can't say enough how much we appreciate that and how much it shows the true goodness of the owners. They clearly don't do this just for the money! Wonderful trip. Guides were excellent and the food was delicious.

5.00We spent the day rafting with our excellent guides Kate, Charlie and Rio. We were the only passengers and had a wonderful time on the river. There were enough rapids to make it exciting, with float time in between to enjoy the incredible scenery. Kate was very knowledgeable about the area, which made the trip even more interesting. We stopped for lunch and the food was delicious, fresh and abundant! We spoke with the owner of MRO a couple times and met her before we left. She was professional, thoughtful and invested in making sure we had the best time. This is the company to use for rafting in this area!
