This tour is a walking tour and an introduction to Salzburg by a local licensed tour guide. It is the ideal way to get to know the city of Salzburg and its main attractions.
During the one-and-a-half-hour walk, you get a basic understanding of the history and the sights of Salzburg, answers to your questions and personal recommendations, and suggestions for sightseeing and activities.
You will also receive a printed map of the city with an overview of the sights, but also recommendations for food and drink and information about day trips, so you can better find your way around the city on your own after the tour.

Great humour, welcoming and personalised experience! Covers most of the major sights with interesting facts and delivered in a clear way.

Had a great walking tour today with our guide Birgit. She gave us so much information and was an absolute delight. Not easy today for her due to the marathon and the massive crowds. Love a walking tour when you have a great guide and she certainly fit the brief.

We were unfortunately disappointed with our experience on this tour. While the guide was knowledgeable, his attitude towards our group often felt unfriendly and unnecessarily sarcastic. At several moments, he made comments implying that, because ours was a private tour, we believed we could do whatever we wanted. These remarks made not only me, but also the rest of my companions, feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, despite the fact that our group was always respectful throughout the tour. On a more personal note, I also felt excluded by some of his behaviour. At the end of the tour he shook hands with two of my companions while pointedly ignoring mine, despite me standing directly in front of him. I understand that these details may seem minor individually, but together they left us with a strong feeling of being disregarded rather than welcomed. It was disappointing, especially in what was supposed to be a pleasant and memorable experience. I wanted to share this feedback honestly and respectfully, as professionalism and courtesy are just as important as knowledge when guiding guests.

Birgit was a fantastic tour guide, weaving stories about history with comparisons to modern day. A great overview of a gorgeous city that leaves you wanting to explore much more. We take free walking tours around the globe, and this was a MUST do.

Johaness was welcoming and full of stories, knowledge and humour. The walking tour was advertised as 1.5hrs and it was a 2hrs walk keeping us entertained and in lovely weather. Some great tips given afterwards, eg visit the Fortress, the Monks beer haus and just wander around and get lost in the streets to experience Salzburg. Thank you

Sonja was our guide and she showed us the main highlights of Salzburg. The tour was an hour and a half and gave us a great insight to the city.
