Johannes, our guide for the English speaking tour, was excellent. He was so knowledgeable about historic and current life in Salzburg. The tour covered all the major sites and provided additional facts about further areas to explore. The two hour walk passed really quickly and contained the right balance of detail and humour. Highly recommended!

I had such a great experience on this free walking tour in Salzburg! Our guide was incredibly kind and friendly from the very beginning, which made the whole group feel comfortable right away. She shared so many interesting facts and stories about the city, but what really stood out was how engaging and entertaining she made everything. I’d absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Salzburg!

We did a walking tour with Johannes. He was wonderful. Very engaging and funny. He also took the time to chat with all the people in our tour and got to know something about all of them. He also gave us recommendations for restaurants and answered any other questions we all had. I highly recommend this tour with Johannes! Top notch!

We did the free walking tour and Johannes was a great tour guide, very informative but not in the least boring, he had a good sense of humour and made the tour interesting. At the end you pay what you think it’s worth. It’s definitely worth doing.

With our first trip to Salzburg planned I decided to book this walking tour to get our bearings and find out some history. Sonja was a wonderful guide who led us on a historical adventure through the old town pointing out places of interest and relating tales of past occupants and happenings. Always willing to answer questions she conveyed her passion for her work at every turn. We can go forward to enjoy our trip all the more thanks to her knowledge. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved this walking tour of Salzburg. Johannes was knowledgeable, informative and entertaining. The group size was about right. He brought us to the main sites in the old town and we learned about the history, architecture and art of the city as well as “The Sound of Music” locations in an informal and entertaining way. His lunch and beer recommendations were spot on!

We were met by our tour guide Johannes who took us on a very informative journey through time from Salzburg’s early beginnings up to the present day. Johannes was at once informative and humours, and he answered all the questions we could throw at him. We went back to the places he recommended for a fuller exploration and were not disappointed. If you can, get a walking tour in first thing - it’ll help you get the most out of your visit. I would highly recommend a going on a free walking tour - I just hope you get a guide as welcoming as Johannes.
