Thank you Ali for a wonderful trip! I highly recommend Ali and the GoToUzbekistan tours team. Everyone was incredibly friendly, communicative, and helpful. I had a great time visiting Samarkand and learned so much from the guide Elmira about not only the history but the culture of Uzbekistan. In addition to seeing the incredible architecture of Samarkand, we got to try a lot of great food as well including plaf, kurds, and dried fruits at the bazaar. It was a very unique and special experience. Ali organized all of the internal travel logistics with drivers and rail tickets and the experience was very smooth and flawless. My only regret was not having several more days in Uzbekistan!!! 6 stars.

We had an interesting and busy day in Samarkand. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the train station to catch the 8am high speed train to Samarkand. We were met there by our knowledgeable guide, Moha, who was passionate about the history of the city and shared that with us as we visited the historical sites. She took us to a local restaurant for a lunch of Uzbek plov, somsa and manti. It was also lovely to meet her son, Arif, who showed us around the market and back to the train station.

This one day trip from Tashkent to Samarkand via the fast train was a fantastic expirence. From the hotel pickup in the morning by Odil who escorted me to the train to Moha who was the guide who met me on arrival in Smarkand and Ali who picked me up on arrival back in Tashkent all could not have been smoother. Moha (a university professor who side gigs as a tour guide) was an amazing source of information and background knowledge wh guided me around the Samakand points of interest. It was actually my third trip to Samarkand, but in one day Moha actually explained the history, what I was seeing and the cultural significance of the city to a depth I had received on previous multi-day visits. Don't hesitate to book this tour. You won't be disappointed.
