10:00 AM - Arrive in Agra & Visit Taj Mahal The Taj Mahal was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631, to be built in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, a Persian princess who died on 17 June thaht year giving birth to their 14th child, Gauhara Begum.[6][7] Construction started in 1632,[8] and the mausoleum was completed in 1643, while the surrounding buildings and garden were finished five years later.[9] The imperial court documenting Shah Jahan's grief after the death of Mumtaz Mahal illustrates the love story held as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal.

Our tour was very well organised, with smooth pickups, clear communication and a comfortable drive, which made the experience stress‑free for me and my wife. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable and patient, explained the history in a simple way and also helped us with the best photo spots and timing for sunrise at the Taj.
