Travelers spend time in a quiet mountain valley used seasonally for reindeer calving. Together with a Sámi reindeer-herding family, guests move slowly and respectfully among the herd, observing reindeer behavior during this sensitive period. Depending on conditions, guests may assist with simple daily tasks when appropriate and learn how herders protect the animals during calving. If a calf is born during the visit, it is witnessed from a respectful distance without interference.
