If you take this tour, you are very lucky, because João is a local person who was born here and knows everything about the Azores.

5.00Our tour guide André went out of his way to personalize our tour. We visited places on São Miguel that we wouldn’t have known about or we might not have ventured to with our rental car. We also visited places such as the Gorreana Tea Factory that everyone should visit at least once. We enjoyed a local buffet in Nordeste and saw more spectacular scenery in a day that anyone could ever see on their own. We’ve been to the island several times already and traveled around quite extensively, but I we can honestly state that this was a day well spent - a perfect day! The tour company owner João Paiva will take your personal interests into consideration when planning your tour. We really enjoyed spending the day with André. Highly recommended!

5.004 of us got off our cruise ship looking for someone to take us to the hot springs and a cozido lunch. Joao was there with many others offering his services. We told him what we wanted and negotiated a price. He waited for us to go back to the ship and get our swimsuits and off we went! He gave us information about the island and flora and fauna along the way. Since he was born and raised on Sao Martin, he was able to tell us a lot about the island we hadn't heard before. He had a nice Volkswagen van and got us back to our ship in plenty of time. Highly recommend Joao and Azores Hidden Tours.
