John doesn’t understand ‘guided’ means I clearly informed him that we were first timers on the dunes . If u doing it for the first time then this is not the experience u would want Rather take a bigger company that pays attention to detail .

Great experience!! Riding the dunes was pretty exciting and we saw a wide array of wildlife. Our driver Hans was very kowledeable. We'd rate the tour five stars except Hans lost his clutch midway through the tour. Although he was able to drive without the clutch, it diminished our enjoyment of the tour.

This was phenomenal. Our tour guide could not have been more skilled. The views and experience are unique. One cannot say they have been to Namibia without visiting the Sandwich Harbor.

Was right inside the port gate waiting for us--early. Just the two of us we went out to the dunes, passing groups of other drivers waiting for lost cars. The truck wasn't his normal truck but that added to the adventure out on the dunes. Stopped at the top of a dune overlooking the ocean. A group of several cars below with their passengers hiking up the dunes to where we drove. Then we went out driving through the dunes, down sharp banks and amazing landscape. A bite to eat then we returned along the coast. He stopped several times as I tried to capture closeups of flamingoes and pelicans. Very nice day out in the sand.

John was our driver and guide. He was friendly and kind to us. Most importantly he is very passionate about what he does. He’s very knowledgeable about the sand dunes and the environment. We also felt very safe with him in the 4x4 vehicle and we enjoyed the experience thoroughly. Highly recommend him. Namibia is a very beautiful country!

It was fantastic. Our guide John was an expert in driving. The views are breathtaking. It's really worth it. It was great, an amazing experience. Our guide John was an expert pilot who took us through the dunes and the sea. You can't be in the area and not go

My husband and I had the pleasure of accompanying John, the owner of Pelgrim Tours, on a sandwich harbour tour (that we had booked as a combo tour with kayaking at Pelican Point - highly recommended). John was a very enjoyable guide and an absolutely fearless driver. I'd read that you cannot access sandwich harbour at high tide, and it was high tide, but John was not fazed, and instead was able to carefully navigate our vehicle along the coast as the waves came in. He was a very careful and competent driver and we felt confident in his abilities. We also really enjoyed the incredible scenery, and John was always eager to share interesting facts about the area and scenery, and even dug up a Palamato gecko for us to see. The driving up and down the dunes was also a highlight and not for the faint of heart, though I think John may have taken it a little easy on the dunes because I am pregnant. But we had a great time overall and can highly recommend both Pelgrim as well as Sandwich Harbour.

What a fantastic day we had with John our tour guide. John was very experienced and passionate about the wild life and scenery to be found in Namibia and went out of his way to make sure that we had a memorable day exploring Dune 7, Sandwich harbour and surrounding area. If this is the 1st time like us in Walvis bay then this is a tour that you must book, you will not be disappointed. We would love to come back one day and do it all over again
