Embalse El Yeso Y Cajon Del Maipo

El Yeso Reservoir is an artificial lagoon built in 1964, whose main function is to supply drinking water to much of Santiago. It is located over 2,500 meters high, surrounded by the Andes mountain range, which gives you that stunning landscape you are seeing. Its characteristic turquoise color is due to the minerals present in the water. Today, in addition to its importance for the city, it is one of the most visited places in Cajon del Maipo, ideal for enjoying nature, taking photographs and living a unique experience in the mountains.
