Did you know that São Paulo is home to the largest Japanese community outside of Japan?
Liberdade, a place with a strong and very long history, once a local executive and military district, became 100 years ago the place of fixation for Japanese immigrants in the city of São Paulo.
Today a place of migrants from many places, China, Korea, Congo, Haiti, this neighborhood is a blast of cultures and diversity!
All of this diversity can be very well synthesized in its peculiar and differentiated cuisine.
Ready to taste Japanese pastel with tropical sugarcane juice, discover about Brazilian ‘sushi’, and more?

Guiliano is a great tour guide- and thus tour is a great preview of the Liberdade and history of the city through food.

We extended our trip to Sao Paulo just so we could catch the day for this tour. Unfortunately: -the location provided was -not- the actual location for meeting, and it took a few minutes to get there, in fact many minutes when the streets since Liberdade is completely crowded and hectic. -we ran 10-15 minutes late due to normal Sao Paulo traffic. We did not expect, by any means, that the tour waited for us. We communicated with the guide and simply asked if he could inform us of his location once we arrived and we would try our best to reach the group. He responded with a very cold message that he could not look at the phone at all for the next hours. And that was it. We lost $100 , but even more, we missed all the day planning, and the tour guide didn't even send us his itinerary so we could complete it later by ourselves. I hate to leave this bad review here, but we were really baffled with the poor customer service and lack of care for us when we thought so highly of this experience. We take responsibility for being late, but for those who buy this tour, please be advised that there is -no- flexibility or communication if you get caught up in the extremely busy streets of Sao Paulo and the hectic Liberdade for a few minutes. We are still disappointed and sad with how this turned out.

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Sao Paulo and this tour was the highlight, by far! Guiliano was the consummate professional (which is apparently a rarity in Sao Paulo), and he introduced us to the Liberdade culture, with good information and excellent food choices! I'm pretty picky and particular about what I expect on a tour and this exceeded my expectations! I would highly recommend Giuliano and this tour to anyone planning to visit SP!

This tour was fantastic! Giuliano was knowledgeable about the Liberdad area and São Paulo history in general. The combination of his knowledge and the delicious foods made for an unbeatable experience! We’re so glad we did this tour!
