5.00I can honestly say this was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. Our trekking tour with Bau (Bao) through Lao Chai and Ta Van was simply outstanding. Bao picked us up directly from our hotel, which made everything effortless from the very beginning. What truly impressed us was how she adapted the entire experience to our pace and preferences. There was no rush, no pressure—just a perfectly tailored journey that felt personal and authentic. Her English is excellent, and throughout the trek we had wonderful conversations. She shared so much valuable insight about the local tribes, their traditions, as well as life in Sapa and Vietnam in general. It didn’t feel like a standard tour—it felt like discovering the region with a knowledgeable friend. The included meal was absolutely delicious and a highlight on its own. Having a guide like Bao makes a world of difference. There is simply no comparison between doing this trek on your own and experiencing it with her. She adds depth, meaning, and warmth to every step of the journey. What we experienced goes far beyond what words can fully capture here. I recommend this tour 100%—it truly deserves it.

5.00Bau's Sapa Homestay was awesome. We met Bau in Sapa Square during the morning around 8:50 am. We then spent the day hiking from town to her family's home. Throughout the day she gave us all the information we wanted, and went into detail about any additional questions we had. She covered her culture, family traditions, Hmong traditions, and local animals and plants. We stopped for a large lunch both days. The views were spectacular with scenic photos of the region. Her family was overly accommodating. We spent the evening and morning with them. We helped with some of the meal preparations and the food was amazing. No part of the trip was overly rushed. We would absolutely recommend this experience to any of our friends. A few considerations if you are thinking of this trip: -First day was about 9.5 miles with 2200 ft of elevation gain -Second day was about 6 miles with about 1100 ft of elevation gain. -Highest elevation was ~6300 ft and lowest was 3300 ft. We did this during late March. Temperatures were 70*-80*F and humid. Both days were sunny with a nice breeze on the first day. We are both athletic and recreate back home at similar elevations. There were parts of the hike that required large, technical steps up/down and balancing along rice patty edges. This was not necessarily easy hiking, however Bau will adjust the pace as needed, and get you a bamboo walking stick if you need something to balance with. If you think this might be on the edge of your difficulty range, consider trekking poles, pack plenty of water, dress for the conditions.

5.00This tour didn’t feel like a typical tourist experience; it felt like spending the day with a friend who wants you to love their home as much as they do. We explore the mountains, tried delicious food I would have never found on my own and learn so much about their daily life. Her family was lovely and welcomed us in their home from the first moment. If you’re visiting Vietnam and want a truly meaningful and memorable experience, this tour is an absolute must!

5.00Wonderful experience with an excellent guide!! She brought us very close to Vietnam and the area with her expertise and pleasant, open nature. We could learn a lot about regional customs and ethnic minorities. Your English is very good! Staying with her family and cooking with each other has provided a lot of insight into family life. Highly recommended!!

Bau is a girl with a permanent smile, patient, sweet... she taught us and explained everything in terms of her culture and her tribute. Their house is spectacular, super well equipped and with a view!! It's been amazing!! Thanks Bau!!!!

5.00Our guided trekking tour with Bau was clearly a highlight of our trip through Vietnam. We were a bunch of four friends who had been recommended to go on a guided tour with Bau. We chose the option of two days trekking tour and one night at Bau's house. She spoke very good English and gave us a lot of knowledge when she told us about their culture etc. Bau is a very caring and kind person who adapted the tour based on our wishes. We were warmly welcomed by her family and felt very safe. The accommodation was very nice and clean. Together we got to help make dinner in the evening which we thought was fun. We got to see beautiful views, walk through nice villages and rice fields. Had two very fun days with a lot of laughter. Recommend everyone to go on a guided trekking tour with Bau!! A memory to take away for the rest of your life!

5.00We had a great trip with Bau. She picked us up and brought extra boots in the case that we needed them. After that we got out to walk. Had a good lunch, followed by the more adventurous path. We finished the first day in her home, where we met her daughters and husband. While we were enjoying the amazing view from the balcony we had some snacks. Then time for dinner we learned how to roll spring rolls and had dinner (and happy water) with her family. After a good nights rest we had pancakes for breakfast and got on for the next day. We had an amazing time with Bau, who took the time to show and explain us what we crossed during our trek.
