This tour is super beautiful now (in April). Beautiful spring greens, flowers and blossoming trees. You don't have to walk a lot during the tour, if you don't want to., We can cover it by car, except some areas in Szentendre, but those areas are reachable by a 5-minute, level walking. We visit two towns along the Danube river: Szentendre and Visegrád. First we stop in the artistic village of Szentendre. This is the most beautiful little town near Budapest, in a natural environment. Cobblestone squares, colorful old houses, narrow streets, graceful churches, nice cafes and quality souvenir/art shops with a huge choice of Hungarian contemporary and folklore art. Szentendre is home and inspiration for the best Hungarian artists. As the walk through the charming and quiet streets of the downtown, you can visit interesting museums or galleries presenting local art. Visegrád once was the capital of Hungary. From the hill you will enjoy the fascinating panorama of the Danube bend. Here we have an option of visiting the ruins of the castle (tickets: about 7 euros per person). During the tour we can also have lunch at a good restaurant with a view.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day touring Visegrad Castle overlooking the Danube Bend and the town of Szentendre. Our guide Attila was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of the sites and life today in Hungary. We highly recommend booking tours with Attila if you are staying in the Budapest area.

Ati was a great host. Very knowledgeable and friendly. He was engaging in conversation and open about his own living experiences in Budapest. The visit to Szentendre and Visegrád Castle were the main highlights and we jever felt rushed. and along the way he showed us off the beaten path sights. Highly recommended.

This was a terrific day and a fabulous experience! Highly recommend you take the time to do this. We were picked up at our cruise ship pier. The Opel car was a great ride - comfortable - and the smiles it drew from onlookers was precious! The scenery was beautiful, the art town was walkable and fun with reasonable prices for shopping. If you like knives or gift knives, there's a quaint shop with beautiful knives. Good bakeries and coffee shops. The highlight was just spending time talking to Balazs - his English is perfect and he is knowledgeable about the area and its history. Couldn't have asked for a more delightful day and experience. Great Memories!

Great day trip from Budapest. Our tour guide, Kiss, was quite knowledgable about the sights we saw as well as life in Hungary. We stopped at a local pottery studio that was fun and had a wonderful lunch overlooking the Danube.

I can't recommend this tour enough!! Our guide for the day was Gabriel. He took very good care of us. He picked us up from our accommodations and we set off for the day. He told us about a few key historical spots as we drove to our first destination, Szentendre, and was happy to answer our many questions about Hungary. We added the optional ceramic workshop visit which we enjoyed a lot. For this, we stopped at the studio/home of an artist who lives in Szentendre, and she showed us the basics of how she creates her pottery which she's been doing for 20 years. She also talked about how life's like in Szentendre. We were a bit confused by what was offered, you do not make your own pottery, but she does have her own work for sale and we couldn't resist buying some of her beautiful work. While in Szentendre we also added to our tour the visit of the Margit Kovacs exhibition. This was really cool to see. Gabriel was very knowledgeable on Margit so we also got a private tour of this museum which is much more fun than just reading the signs on the walls. After that we did some shopping around the shops and enjoyed lunch. After lunch we then did the option motorboat tour - this we highly recommend! We were lucky that the weather was very good. This is an hour ride on a local's speed boat, and Gabriel came along to translate for the local who shared many interesting facts as we cruised up the river almost all the way to Slovakia! The sites were beautiful and being on the water was a lot of fun. Next we saw Visegrad and the castle, where Gabriel shared more interesting facts about the area. For our final stop, we went across the bridge into Slovakia, where we stopped for just a few minutes to enjoy setting foot in a new country. Overall this was an extremely enjoyable trip well worth the money. I also think it's very reasonably priced for getting a private tour guide all day long. If I could do this in every country I visit, I would.

We had a wonderful half day getting out of the city proper and enjoying the beauty of the Danube and walking the cobblestone streets of the local arts and artisan town. The fact that our guide, Balazs, picked us up in a classic 1957 Opel was a cherry on top of the experience. Highly recommend The tour and Balazs.
