It is an amazing and very adventurous experience, as you will see how the Rwandese live in their villages and homes and see the magnificent view of five beautiful volcanoes.
This short walk on foot takes roughly 3 hours and the longer one takes around 5 hours or more depending on guests’ preference or their physical fitness and it ends at the foot of Bisoke volcano and have a lunch there after a short massage by the staff of volcanoes Resto-Bar.

5.00Theodore, Esther and Beyond the Gorillas Experience team went above and beyond regard the scenic walk day tour around the volcanoes. I had an amazing time. I’m solo travel visiting Rwanda for the first time. My hotel was in Kigali and since I wanted more of the experience, I planned to take the 3hr bus ride from Kigali bus station to Musanze bus station, then I would mostly likely transfer to a private car to the tour meet point. Theodore gracefully arranged the trip to the meet point and back to the hotel. I was first collected at the Kigali hotel to the bus station placed on the bus to Musanze and picked up by Esther. The hike, landscape and views of the volcanoes including the Bisoke volcano were amazing. Esther provided insights regarding plant and animal life. We were fortunate to see the golden monkeys outside the park. Our interactions with the locals were brief but wonderful. Lunch at the camp was exceptional. Many thanks again to Theodore, Esther and the team.

5.00We were searching for a short hike to get a nice view at the volcanoes, we even spotted a couple of golden monkeys and got a glipse of how the farmers are living. The price was fine with $40 per person, for 2 hours. Janet was a kind, flexible and well informed guide.
Rural hike to Twin Lakes

4.00we took a 2h30 minutes hike through rural villages up to the peak to have an amazing view of the Twin Lakes , our guide was Jeannette that all along the way explained vwell the activities of the rural people . very interesting . we started at 1850mt and reached the peak at 2120mt , so physically possible for all. Jeanette carried some extra water in case of need and a snack. I really recommend this half day excursion for the wonderful view and colors . The only thing is that I have found the tour slightly overpriced , me and my husband paid 100$ cash and we had our driver to deliver us to the starting point and picking us up at the ending .

5.00Did a day trip with Beyond to go to the Musanze Caves and then do a scenic walk (2-3 hours) around the foothills of the Volcanoes National Park. Whole thing was well organised and great from start to finish. Pleasure to deal with, very helpful and accommodating. The guides, Simon and Fernando, were fantastic and I had a great time in the caves and on the walk. The walk was lovely with excellent views of the volcanoes, lots of interesting information about the local fauna and area. A long with a nice close up look at some of the local's farms and villages. All ending with a nice beer and tasty food at the beer garden on the foot of Mt Bisoke. If you're looking to check out the park / area without doing a Gorilla or Monkey trek or hiking to the top of a volcano, this is a great option.
