What To Expect
Balboa Pier
The Balboa Pier was constructed in 1906 as a sister project of the Balboa Pavilion. The Newport Bay investment Company wanted to attract lot buyers to an undeveloped spit of sandy land now called the Balboa Peninsula. In order to do so, they built both the Balboa Pavilion and the Balboa Pier.

5.00Very prompt, the guide had lots of insight to the area. You will travel a lot further than you would think. The ride down the beach has amazing views and sights. We did the morning tour and the boardwalk was not busy and very easy to navigate.

5.00What an incredible day celebrating the birthday of one of my closest friends. The weather was perfect. Our guide, Mike was extremely knowledgeable of the area and patient with us as we navigated our way around Balboa. He is also an excellent photographer and took many memorable pictures for us to share with family and friends. I would highly recommend this tour!!

5.00Wonderful Segway tour! Helpful and knowledgeable staff, terrific guide in Mike. Definitely more of a scenic tour than historic or touristy, but enjoyable for sure! Won’t hesitate to return on a future visit to Newport Beach!

1.00What a joke. This place is atrocious!! We booked well in advance for a 2 hour Segway tour. We showed up 10 minutes before our 9am appointment. There was a guy leaf blowing and chasing up bikes. There was no record of out reservation, he said “ohh TripAdvisor we don’t use that app” so he called someone who was obviously still sleeping and they could not figure out what to do. They could not refund my money… because no app… so o called TripAdvisor, here I sit waiting SEVEN DAYS for a $360 refund. Do not give this place your money at!!! What a joke.

5.00We participated in the 90 min Segway tour of Newport Beach. The experience was awesome. Our tour guide Mike was exceptional. He took the time to show us the ins and outs of the area, took our picture and exceeded our expectations! The Segway tour is absolutely worth it!

5.00We had such a great time on this tour. I had no idea that Mike was the instructor (didn't take too long to learn how to use the Segway) and would take my husband, son and me around. He was so nice. It was great that he took our photos and video. I would definitely recommend this activity!

5.00We had such a fun time on our Segway tour! It was such a unique experience and a good way to see Newport Beach at sunset. Our guide Michael was hilarious and so funny! He took so many pictures of us and made the tour super enjoyable. We did not need to get there 30 mins before though.
