Stunning views of the Nelson coastline/estuary and local farmland on this all day excursion to the winery and back. But cycling was easy safe, and energizing. Chris and Bernie couldn't have been better hosts. All and all, a peek experience!

This trip was a perfect combination of exercise with great e-bikes, wine tasting and food. Petra was a wealth of knowledge and made great recommendations. The route was easy to follow. Communication, before and during the tour was excellent and we cannot recommend this trip and the Gentle Cycling Company highly enough.

The lovely Bernie made sure we had a wonderful day cycling in Nelson. The suggested itinerary was excellent and the cheese tasting and cheese scones at the Old factory corner she recommended were absolutely delicious. The bike tracks are very user friendly. The Seifried winery was a perfect spot for wine tasting and lunch. We enjoyed the ride to Rabbit Island was lovely.

Great trail for a ride except the first section when it parallels the highway. The trail is well maintained and marked. We rode to Rabbit Island and it was well worth the effort. The beach is a great place to rest and listen to the surf.

A really great day out and a fantastic way to experience the views of Nelson. Bernie and the crew were excellent communicators and were very flexible in helping my partner and I have a fun day out and enjoy the winery tasting. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great day, cycling to and from Rabbit Island on Christmas Eve. We were so lucky with the weather - sunny all day long! We stopped for lunch en-route at an amazing garden cafe as well as a pre-booked wine tasting at one of the local vineyards. Petra at The Gentle Cycling Company was pure joy to be with, picking us up and dropping us off to and from our accommodation. Petra and the team ensured we were all well prepared for the ride out and the route to take. Thank you for an amazing time.

The management was very responsive to our needs and made sure we were well taken care of when one of our party had to leave the group. Beautiful scenery and lovely lunch spot at the Grape Escape Only one winery happened to be open on a Monday. Julie, Janet and Judy

We were extra lucky as we got a perfect weather day, which made this really special. Chris picked us up from our accommodation, supplied us with good, easy to use e-bikes, talked us through the route and gave us paper and electronic mapping, as well as recommending food and drink stops along the way. The trail is mostly beautiful, running along the coast - in one section it is alongside a main road in a more built up area, but on a distinct cycle path - and the loop of Rabbit Island is particularly lovely, with the chance to stop along a huge sandy beach. We did the winery tasting (the tasting is pretty brief, the best bit was also having lunch in the garden restaurant), as well as stopping at the Grape Escape café (more sitting in the sun, beautiful garden) and the Eddyline Brewery. We had such a enjoyable day we overshot our timing - our full distance was over 60k, with several stops - but Chris was unfazed and simply arranged to pick up the bikes from us the following morning. Excellent day, really well put together.
