Great. You can be there by yourself, no guide, no group. You can walk and admire what you see. Amazing.

The park is really a nice experience. The people were great and we loved going thru the sites at our pace.

Wonderful people at the visitor center! Super remote area - ensure you have proper transportation there and back. Enjoyed our time here even in the rain!

A gem on the road less travelled. We went to other geothermal offerings, but this was the best. Up close and immersive experience at your own pace.

Very different experience to thermal pool site previously visited. Less touristy a good alternative to the Rotarua site. Small cafe onsite but be warned no toilets on explore site. The crossover by boat provides a good view of the area. The site is self explore so you can take aslong as you want the norm seems to be 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Not the is quite a bit of walking quite a bit up and down slopes which can be tiring. Take your time. We are both 68 and managed but it's a good workout.
