What To Expect
Float down the Upper Yarra River on your own sturdy, comfortable river tube in this nature-based adventure! This 2-hour journey covers 3 km of scenic river, mixing relaxing floats with fun rapids and obstacles that require paddling, agility, and swimming skills. Your adventure starts at the Warburton oval with a briefing and demo, followed by a shuttle upstream. From there, you’ll have up to 1.5 hours to explore the river at your own pace. Our durable tubes are designed for adults and kids 10+, easy to manoeuvre, and built to withstand rocks, branches, and shallow sections. This is a truly Australian adventure not to be missed, but remember—the Yarra is a real river, not a theme park. Conditions vary daily, and natural obstacles like rocks, branches, and logs may require paddling or standing to navigate. If you’re not a confident swimmer, consider hiring a river guide. All participants must be able to swim. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult or river guide. Wear closed-toe shoes or water booties, and PFDs are mandatory for weak swimmers and recommended for children.

Two couples in our 60’s and 70’s of moderate fitness, we were up for adventure and river tubing on the Yarra River near Warburton far exceeded our expectations in every way. We paid a little extra to have our own guide Nick and he was totally worth the investment, providing local knowledge as well as a little prod when we got stuck along the journey. Thank you for helping to make it so perfect Nick! It was just so exhilarating and so beautiful to float along this majestic river and absorb a unique perspective of its unique scenery. We were fortunate to have a glorious 33 degree day and an environmental release to top up the water level. We did choose to hire a wetsuit jacket which was worthwhile too. Best activity done in years! Do it if you can. A perfect day.

5.00We love the river tubing in Warburton- it's so relaxing, beautiful, and fun. This is the third time we've done this as a family. The Warburton Adventure Company are fantastic- giving great guidance and safety precautions. The experience is a real re-set for the nervous system too- great if you are feeling a bit fried from city / job etc. Thank you so much!
