Hol Chan Marine Reserve
Hol Chan is Mayan for "little channel" and is a natural break in the reef, which has always been a very productive fishing area with abundant marine life. It is open to the sea beyond the reef, so allows marine creatures to travel from the outside of the reef to the inside and vice versa. It became the first marine reserve in the entire country of Belize back in 1987 and this have led to the species to re-generate and the corals of growing unharmed. This snorkeling area has the greatest variety of marine life and coral, compared to being an "underwater zoo" - you have the chance to see all kinds of corals, fishes and even sea turtles! Over 160 species of fish and forty types of coral have been recorded in the area. The snorkeling here is minimum 45 minutes.

Anna and Charlie were the absolute best and when we come back and if we do this again, we would want them for sure. The service they provided was excellent as well as their personalities. Anna captured really great candid pictures of our group, the rum lunch packed a punch- lol. They were attentive to all of our needs. We wanted lunch at Chef Kareem’s in Caye Caulker and they were able to pre- order for us before our arrival. Our group enjoyed the experience immensely. Thank you

Highly recommend this fantastic experience! Snorkeling near the reef and Shark Ray alley, then a trip to Caye Caulker and watching the sunset on the way back to San Pedro! You can’t get better than that. Captain Charley and Anna were fantastic. Anna made sure there was always a drink in hand and that we were well fed with a delicious lunch, then freshly made ceviche on the ride back. Incredible experience!! You can’t go wrong booking here. 😊

Ana and Charlie were absolutely fantastic. I'd recommend this tour to anyone who would listen. The whole day really was ideal, no complaints. I work nights and the later start time than the other tours worked really well for me. We saw sea turtles, rays, nurse sharks, blue tang fish (Dory from Finding Nemo), and so many others. The water temp was wonderful. The snorkeling gear didn't fog up. The pictures we got were awesome. The photos don't include underwater photos, so if that's important to you, you'll want to bring your own camera. I loved that we got both a late lunch and a snack, and both were delicious. If you're contemplating doing a snorkeling trip, this is the one to book.

Our family had a wonderful time with Anna in the catamaran. Anna was our guide for snorkeling at Hol Chan. We saw many fish, turtles, and conch. We then went to Shark Ray Alley where we snorkeled with nurse sharks! It was absolutely spectacular. The team made us a bbq fish/beef/shrimp meal that my kids even loved. We then hung out at Caye Caulker before a long sunset cruise back.

The most awesome experience! Abraham was a very kind and knowledgeable guide. We did the Hol Chan tour and loved it. Mentioned that we’d love to do Mexico Rocks and Abraham set up a tour for us the next day. Mexico Rocks was beyond amazing, then we snorkeled a couple of more spots, saw the iguana preserve and had lunch at the very cool secret beach. Day two our captain was Michael with BlueHeaven dive shop. He was great. We will be back and look up both Michael and Abraham. Highly recommend!

Absolute blast! We chose this for our first day of our weeklong vacation and are thrilled with the experience. Charlie and Anna are wonderful hosts and so very knowledgeable. They provided really amazing information throughout our excursion and pointed out wildlife to us, while prioritizing safety. Additionally, Anna served us unlimited beverages and delicious, huge meal, then topped it off at sunset with fresh made ceviche. Couldn’t ask for a more joyous, interesting, and adventurous trip. 100% worth it. It is the day our family will always remember from our trip!
