Kay was amazingly helpful to us since we actually showed up for the wrong tour a day early! We asked for her to arrange it so we could stay with her group and she did very quickly. We are glad we did because she had a great personality and a very expansive knowledge of historic Charleston. Her love for Charleston was displayed un every step we took. Highly recommend!

This was a fantastic tour! Kay was fun, energetic and very knowledgeable. We could feel her love for Charleston as she shared the history to our group. The length of time of this tour was perfect. We were so glad we did the tour and the the knowledge we gained helped enhance the rest of our stay in Charleston!

Kay is knowledgeable and worked extra hard to help us learn about and appreciate Charleston. She went WAAAAAAAY beyond names and dates, digging into the “why” and “how” of this amazing city. She’s thoughtful, energetic, funny, entertaining, and handles difficult subjects such as slavery and secession in a factual, non-judgmental way. Her deep understanding of cultural issues sparkled throughout our tour (and she even spent an extra 30 minutes because we’d asked so many questions and she’s so darned interesting!) She’s clearly passionate about this city, and like all talented people in the education field, she didn’t try to “teach” us; she helped us learn. Call Kay first!

Friends recommended Kate and we were glad they did. She was informative, welcoming, and happy to answer all questions. It was a great way to learn about Charleston. Plus she suggested a delicious French restaurant for lunch that no tourist would find!

Our second time with Kay Abrams and we hope to book with her again when we have out-of-town guests. She's informative fun, kind, thoughtful of her guests. A great Charleston experience!

If you think all tour guides are basically the same, think again! Kay Abrams is in a league of her own. We’ve taken plenty of tours, but Kay isn’t your typical guide. She brings a level of deep knowledge and genuine passion that you just don't find every day. Even on a biting, cold Charleston day, Kay’s warmth and approachable personality made the entire experience feel cozy and incredibly engaging. She is so pleasant to listen to and has a way of making history come alive without it feeling like a lecture. If you want a tour that feels like exploring the city with a brilliant friend, book with Kay. She truly made our trip!

Very enjoyable walking tour! Our guide Steve Bailey was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Having a small group was great—time for questions but still a perfect pace. I would definitely recommend this tour.
