What To Expect
Miradouro do Pico do Carvao
Start by driving up to the caldera's wall through a inner road of the island, stop by a viewpoint to see both north and south coastlines and the vast hills and volcanic formations along São Miguel.

Check the old roman style aqueducts that were used to carry fresh water among villages without access to tap water back in the day. We'll stop by two different structures, one of them being one the most popular stops on social media: the Nine Windows wall of Sete Cidades,

5.00Ivo was an excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge as he is from the Azores. Any question was answered with passion that helped appreciate the island more. Throughout the Western tour, he safely drove us to each destination, took the best pictures at vantage points, and advocated for our group especially during the lunch buffet which had a lot of options. The dessert was delicious that varies from day to day. We had the flan and rice pudding. For those worried about bathroom use, public bathrooms were available throughout. The van promptly picked us up/dropped off from Hotel Verde Mar in Ribeira Grande. I highly recommend this tour because the locations can be very busy and made the vacation less stressful. We had our own car, but it made the beautiful views of the Azores more enjoyable. You get a chance to explore each area from 15-45 min. Feel free to pack for the beach/pools. I did a quick dip into the pools and just walked around the beach. We would try other tours if our time allowed. The fees are worth the experience. Definitely book with Wildscape Azores Tours!

5.00This was our second tour with Ivo! Ivo was kind enough to reacheduke this tour because of the aeather conditions, to make sure that we we have the best experience! He shared a lot of information about the flora and the fauna of the osland, as well as history and other interesting facts! The viewpoints he took us to were great! The linch was included and there were a lot of pescaterian options for me. I got the impression that Ivo cares a lot about the tours and the participants, and I enjoyed the day with him! 😍

Since we were his only guests on this trip due to unexpected cancellations of rest of the guests, we had a private tour with lot of personal attention. I would recommend this tour highly.

5.00I originally booked a tour through GetYourGuide but because of our departure time, Ivo suggested a private tour that we could tailor to fit our needs. He picked us up at our hotel and took us to several overlooks and into the Sete Ciadades region. My travel partner was very interested in the agriculture of the island and we made lots of stops to see the cows. We had the opportunity to meet a local farmer and his dog on our walk on the peninsula. Our guide, Ivo, was very knowledgeable about our visit. We had a great day!

5.00We had a wonderful day with Ivo exploring Cete Cidade and the western end of Sao Miguel. He is very knowledgeable about and obviously very proud of his beautiful island home. What he didn't know off hand he looked up (which wasn't much because he knows alot). Take this tour or any of the others offered by Wildscape Acores. You won't regret your choice.
