Walk where Shakespeare walked, on a self-guided app created by , a local who grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon.
From the school where young Shakespeare studied to the church where a mysterious curse guards his grave, this self-guided audio tour reveals the real Stratford that most visitors walk right past.
Across 15+ stops, you will discover the oldest pub in town, the tragic story of Shakespeare's forgotten daughter Judith, the reason his grand house no longer stands, and the hidden connection between a Stratford timber-framed house and Harvard University.
Unlike group tours, start whenever you want, take as long as you like, and pause to duck into a 500-year-old pub or Shakespeare's Birthplace along the way.
Think you know the Bard? Take the optional Shakespeare quiz as you walk and put your knowledge to the test.
Ideal for those who are here for a day, this walking tour allows you to discover the famous sights and some hidden gems all of which you can experience at your own pace.

I was kind of skeptical about using a self-guided tour from an App but I must admit, I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than be stuck in a group tour with loads of other people. So this seemed like a chance worth taking and I'm so glad I did. Very easy to navigate through the app, the tour was easy to stay on or veer off depending on our mood/hunger/lack of navigational skills ;) . We were able to take our time, go in the order we felt like going in and skip over the things we didn't find as interesting. I'm quite pleased to have found this app and will most definitely use it again in other cities and countries if it's available. I would say, it would have been helpful to park at the rec centre where the start of the tour was (we parked near a pub for lunch first) and so we did have to double back quite a bit at the start...but that's not their fault, I simply didn't pay enough attention. Also, I'd just say, do a bit of research into the things that you want to see that have an admission fee or certain open days and closing times...

It was a very good experience. I am not very tech-savvy, but it was so simple to purchase and download… even easier to use! It was great that you could use the map, pictures or list view, enabling you to see pictures of the things you were learning about and being able to follow yourself moving along the detailed map. Also useful was the ability to start the sections in any order and repeat information if necessary. This is my second tourific guide. The first was a Game of Thrones tour of Girona. Both excellent.

The route was easy to follow, very informative and lasted just the right length of time - we could go at our own speed too, which was great!

Great tour and even better being able to take my time and stop as frequently as I liked. I also like the fact that you could stop, start and replay sections which were all very informative. (It just needs updating to say that Hall's Croft is currently shut)
