Had an incredible morning walking around Shanghai on this tour. Jim is an excellent tour guide - I learned so much about Shanghai and Chinese cuisine and culture. Definitely arrive hungry, you will eat far more food than you can believe and it is all delicious. Getting to see a local market was a highlight - we also tried xiaolongbao, noodles and went to a local fruit store, among other spots. The tour felt very flexible and relaxed. I recommend booking this early in your stay - Jim gave excellent recommendations for more food and drink spots and you'll want time to try them out. An absolute must for anyone visiting Shanghai.

Jaden took me around for some great breakfast foods and coffee yesterday. She shared so much knowledge of the area and Shanghai in general. She was also willing to help me with advice on a better area of town to move hotels. It was a nice morning.

I was the only one on the tour today and Jaden took wonderful care of me. She was a good time to spend time with and gave me lots of good information about Shanghai.

This was a genuinely enjoyable experience from start to finish. The food was excellent, well prepared, and thoughtfully chosen, and it never felt rushed. Our guide, Jim, was friendly, knowledgeable, and struck a good balance between information and conversation. He clearly knew the area and added context that made the experience feel considered rather than generic. Well organised and very good value overall.

Jim was an amazing guide. We have even done this tour twice. We had so much fun both times. He even helped us make a dinner reservation for NYE. Delicious food, and interesting history!

Fantastic start to the day! Our guide, Jim, was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I went with my two retired parents and it was a great leisure walk (filled with LOTS of food) and a great way to really get to see the city outside of all of the tourist spots. Jim was more than happy to adjust the schedule and offerings to what we were looking for.

Jim is incredible! This tour is excellent - informative and delicious. Covered a lot of ground on foot gaining great insight into the food history and culture of Shanghai. Hustling with locals for dumplings was fun with everyone involved getting a good giggle. Tea ceremony was an absolute highlight. Thanks Jim and TJ.

Another great foodie option with this company amd I had the lovely Jade again. Having done another afternoon food tour it is interesting to see the variety of different local options. As before it wasn't just about the food, we learned about the culture also as well as walking through the locale to walk off the food and experience how locals live without standing out TOO much. Thoroughly recommend if you have the time

I did the Shanghai food tour with Jim and it was awesome. He’s super friendly and knows a ton about the city’s history. The quick museum stop in the French Concession was a cool surprise, and every restaurant he took us to was a hidden gem with amazing food. Highly recommend this tour if you want to see the real Shanghai.
