Was a great way to spend a Sunday in Shanghai. Learned a lot and not only about the local food. The guide spoke fab English so communication was fluent and easy. The walking through the Old French Quarter ever interesting. Never bumped into any other tourists at anywhere we went. Food delicious. Places you would never find on your own. Absolutely sign up for this!

We had Jim as our guide and he was great. He took us to some fantastic breakfast spots. My aunt who is from Shanghai loved the potstickers! We saw lots of local places on the tour. Highly recommend.

Jim was the best guide we could have asked for. It was only two of us so it was intimate and educational. Jim is such an approachable person that answers every question thoughtfully and caringly. I highly recommend this tour. I would not have any of this food if I went out looking for it myself. Tasty and memorable!

Excellent way to get to know the Shanghai’s food on our first day in town, from serendipitous park dancing & French concession alley ways to treat after delightful treat. We were a bit tired but our host Jim (and our two companions on the tour) kept the energy perfectly balanced through our our stops, potstickers, xlb, steamed buns, scallion oil noodles, and an excellent tea time, we ate so much and learned so much at the same time. Excellent first day and good for all ages! Can I rate it 10 stars?

This was an excellent way to experience Shanghai and one of our trip highlights. Our guide Jim was super knowledgeable and very friendly and answered all of our random questions about life in Shanghai and China. We made quite a few stops during the 3 hour tour and they were all excellent. Most stops were small places we would have never known to go to and the food was excellent at all of them. Jim was also very accommodating - anything we needed or asked for was organsied. At one stop i wanted a couple more dumplings and he happily organised a second round for all of us! We also enjoyed walking the small lane ways and getting out of the tourist areas. Overall excellent tour and highly recommend.

A great experience. Learned a lot. Great food and delightful knowledgeable guides, Jamie and Ash, who were super ambassadors for the youth of modern China.

A fantastic way to experience the delicious Shanghai food scene. Jim was an engaging guide who provided an entertaining and informative tour with lots of tasty, fresh food along the way. Jim has great local connections and led us through little lanes and alleys to soak up the atmosphere. Added bonus of some great historical information, tea tasting and fresh market visit. Highly recommend - a great way to spend 1/2 a day.

It was truly an amazing experience. Our tour guide was clearly a very experienced and knowledgeable local. He was able to cater to dietary requirements whilst introducing us to authentic Shanghainese food. I also love the way we were walking to each stop, this allowed us to take in the scenary and enjoy a wide variety of foods. I would recommend for anyone to book this tour when coming to Shanghai, you will fall in love with their local delicacies.

Our guide TJ had a lot of good insights about the food scene and history of the former french concession and Shanghai. I got to try different foods, drink the local coffee and learn some things I didn’t know before. I would recommend this tour.

Jim was a great guide! Food was amazing. Good mix of popular and local spots. Not sure if it was part of the usual stops but he took me to the wet market as well and it made for good photos. It helped that I was the only one who signed up that day and we took our time. We also took a detour to check out an EV showroom! Top notch food tour with important bits of cultural and historical info.
